    A look back...

I know this horse has been beat to death so sorry for the trip down memory lane here. I was just looking back on some recruiting classes and took a look at the 2004 and 2005 classes. WOW! That could've been a great set of classes for us had everything panned out. Here's a look at the notable prospects:

    2004:

Tasheed Carr ***: PG 6-5 215# Ends up at St. Josephs playing very well averaging 10.9 PPG.

Ivan Chiravev *****: Listed as SF 7-1 235# Declares for NBA but goes undrafted so he ends up over seas.

Rashon Clark ****: SF 6-6 195# I don't have to remind you of him.

    2005:

Farnold Degand **: PG 6-4 165# NC State starting PG before an injury. Averaged 6.9 PPG

Jiri Hubalek ***: C 6-11 220# We all no Jiri.

Shawn Taggart ****: PF 6-9 215# Transfer to Memphis and averaged 5.9 points as a reserve last season. Now a full-time starter.

Kellen Lee ***: PF 7-0 200# Went to prep school and then declared to the NBA draft. Similiar story to Ivan Chiravev.

That is a ton of talent right there. Too bad Wayne couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper sack. Again, sorry to bring up this stuff again I just didn't realize how good those 2 recruiting classes were. Scratch that, could have been.

You can make a list like that for every D1 school on the potential recruits they have missed out on... and a majority of those lists would look better than ours

I'm not that impressed looking at the list. There are a couple decent players, but nothing earth shattering.

    Re: A look back...

I guess Kellen Lee was not near as impressive as I first thought. I thought he went to Europe to play pro like Chiravev did. Further investigation finds that he went to a community college and averaged a whopping 7 PPG. He then went undrafted and fell off the map. That was the thing that most impressed me was we had consecutive years with Pro-Caliber. Guess tat wasn't quite the case.

Um yeah I gotta agree here; nothing earth shattering indeed.

And you also forgot Theo Davis, 4 star from Canada I believe. Never made it here obviously, went to Gonzaga where he sucked it up before getting in trouble with 'shrooms I think. Don't quote me on that.
