    Bowls on the NFL network?

Whats up with bowls like the Texas Bowl (ex Houston Bowl) and the Insight bowl being on the NFL network?

These bowls all have big XII teams and I would like to watch them, but looks like I wont.

No matter what TV package you have, somehow you always have the wrong one, especially with the Big XII....

For example, I could get dish with Fox Sports package, but then I would miss these games, or I would miss ISU bball games on Mediacom.

    What a joke.

It's quite simple, The NFL Network bought the the TV rights to those bowl games.

mediacomm is going to have to carry the NFL network soon. They are strongarming the cable companies by putting games on there that you can only see on a dish right now.

Comes down to channel placement. NFL Network wants their channel on basic cable, which means everyone pays wether you want the channel or not, cable companies (Mediacom, Time Warner, etc.) want to place the NFL Network on a digital sports package, which is an add on service.

Besides, I think right now, Mediacom has more important things to worry about (like keeping KDSM & KGAN).

    Wouldn't it be awesome if...

the Big 12 inked a deal with the NFL network to carry their games on Saturday's. That would be a slam dunk, kick the Fox sport package, TBS to the curb.
