If it is him, here's his bio......definitely has the playing experience but only has 3 years of coaching experience as a D-coordinator though....

I hope theres a difference in talent because Buffalos defense was not good 11th out of 13 schools.....

The guy should consider being an offensive coordinator as it appears he has no problems scoring... the guy has six kids!

Looks like Jimmy kept trying for Jimmy Jr.

I agree. I think the defense will deffinitely be influenced alot by PR.
Chiz wanted to be the "CEO" and stayed very hands off. He could also conveniently lay all the blame on the DC then.
I like the hire of an up and comer. Youth and energy can go a long way.

JW may be an up and comer in the coaching profession, but I wouldn't necessarily describe him as young. He was drafted in 1982, so I would guess that puts him around 48 to 49 years old.

    Re: Jimmy Williams new DC?

Yeah, he isn't exactly young. He just got a later start on his career because of the NFL. I like the hire though. He has worked alongside Bo Pelini, a very solid defensive mind. He played for Charlie McBride, a very good defensive mind. Even though the Buffalo defense wasn't outstanding like somebody else said, they were opportunistic and still made plays even though they didn't have outstanding talent!!

Also, Williams would be yet another guy with deep ties to the Big 12 conference!! So if we get him we will have at least one guy that would have been on the staff had Turner Gill been hired like a lot were hoping, haha!
