    Huskerhoops Web Site Report Card

I occasionally peruse this site. A couple former Husker "stars" (Chubick and Reid) contribute to this site. Their resident "guru" Clark Fosler breaks down last night's game. Here is the link:
Husker Hoops Central - The #1 Source For Nebraska Basketball Fans

One thing I have found amusing with the report card (and is true in this case as well) is that whenever the Huskers lose, they generally rate the overall grade as a D or lower - even though the individual categories (offense, defense, rebounding, etc) may have been rated higher than a 'D'. Here's a "gem" that I will provide for you from the site:

    Defense Grade = D:
"This was an F in the first half, but some great intensity and pressure defense in the second half (at least until the last 2 minutes) saved the grade from being truly horrible. Nebraska was simply lazy in helping out in the low post against Craig Brackins and borderline ignorant in giving Lucca Staiger 12 looks from outside the arc. Here’s a clue: if a chubby German kid who can’t dribble more than two times in a row has a Division I scholarship, chances are you probably should guard him at the three point line."
Actually, I thought the Huskers played extremely well defensively. That was not their downfall last night. If this team could bring in some offensive talent and some size, they could be a really good team.

Re: Huskerhoops Web Site Report Card

They graded UNL defense. However, we should remind them that was just typical ISU bball. We never get too far behind or too far ahead. UNL could have brought "D defense" or "A defense" to the game and the score would have been about the same.

Funny they had a Guard named Cookie who was like 4 feet 11 inches tall and they are making fun of the chubby German. Does this guy not have any WW2 movies and see what happens when Germans get mad.

Wow lol. ****in huskers, as if we didnt hate them already. that chubby german kid had some nice drives to that he kicked out for open opportunities for teammates and crashed the boards hard all night. Maybe Nebbie should look into getting a line up on the floor with a guy taller than 6'6"?

lucca isnt chubby... hes built like a ******* middle linebacker

Is is a law that the NU MBB team has to have a guard named "Cookie"?

Did everyone see the cold stare that Doc Saddler morphed into about 1:25 left in the game when the call on the steal by BPO did not go his way. It was like the whole game was lost based oin that one call.

Re: Huskerhoops Web Site Report Card

I think Osborne mandated that the bball team always has a undersized guard named Cookie. It is well known that he has a sweet tooth.

Re: Huskerhoops Web Site Report Card

Its not NU's fault that we finally started moving around without the ball. I was watching the replay on ESPN360 this morning and Lucca has a knack for moving a little while his defender is looking towards the ball handler. This helps him create separation for catch and shoot situations.

Also, Thompson's pass out of the double team was a thing of beauty.
