Why can't women stand cold weather?

I'm curious as to everyone's opinion/theory as to why women are always cold (unless it is 80deg F ++)??

Any hormonal reason for this (i.e. scientific reason)??

I rather enjoy a nice chill in the air and can't stand sweating my arse off.

Don't complain about women in over 80 degree weather. They wear a lot less then, and that is a good thing.

Biologically speaking I believe men have thicker, tougher skin??? Could keep men warmer. Plus more body hair.

Even in Iowa, all is good when temp goes up. Yes, sometime you have to take the good with the bad.

Re: Why can't women stand cold weather?

Because their circulatory system is concentrated in their torso, in lieu of the extremities to better sustain life and the human race as a whole. This is why their arms legs, etc get colder but they make better pilots because the blood doesn't pool in the feet and would be less susceptible to hypothermia.

Men on the other hand have more capillaries and blood supply to the extremities and therefore are generally have a greater sense of warmth but also lose more heat through extremities and run a greater risk of blood pooling in their feet at high Gs.

But women have a higher % of body fat then men, you would think they be warmer.

Re: Why can't women stand cold weather?

What I have heard, and maybe this isn't true:

Men have more circulation to their extremities (arms and legs, hands and feet). This allows them to function better in cold weather, which would be useful in such things as hunting or fighting.

Women have more circulation to their core (torso basically). This makes them feel colder, but actually better able to survive because you could conceivably lose an arm but still function.

I briefly looked on Google for something to support what I'd heard. If I understood any of what I found I'd probably post it. :)

Edit: What Broodwich said, he's smarter than me.

have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?

Don't tell them that, or you'll be left out in the cold.

Re: Why can't women stand cold weather?

One of my favorite lines from Cheers was when one of Cliff's girlfriends had to leave and go to Alaska and she told Cliff "What will I do...it'll be so cold" and Cliff's response was "Don't worry...you'll be fine...women have that extra layer of fat"

    LMAO
