    Spring Practice

Maybe I am looking a little too far ahead. Does anyone know when spring practice starts or when the game is?

I'm not so sure about this one. It will take awhile for the staff to implement their offense and defense.

    Re: Spring Practice

At this point it'd be 900-0 since we dont have a defense coord yet.

    Re: Spring Practice

Spring practice starts right after spring break.

OC Herman will have a lot of toys to play with. One thing that the old staff did was make Darks our emergency QB out of the Wildcat formation in case Austen got knocked unconscious, apparently. With Darks being a former QB, it'd be interesting to see if Herman can work in a wrinkle there.

Something else I'd like to see is the possibility of using Collin Franklin in a similar role to Dallas Clark....line him up at TE, then split him out to the slot occasionally. He's got the athleticism, he's a big son of a gun, and he can catch passes. Maybe (hopefully) TH can figure out we've got pretty good tight ends.

    Re: Spring Practice

I would like to see the TEs used like James Casey was at Rice. That guy had a monster season:
    111 rec.1329 yards13TDs 57rushes
    241yards 6TDs
This was on top of Jarret Dillards 1330 rec yards and 20 TDS.

I really think that Herman will try and do this with Hamilton. He has a bigger body and can do a lot of things even throw the ball. I just really think that Hamilton will have a big year next year like Casey did for Rice because from what I have heard/read Casey wasn't a true TE type. More like Rucker and Coffeman from Mizzu.

All the '08 season I was wondering to myself "when the hell do we get ISU on the schedule? We could probably beat them, they suck." Well here's our chance for a win in 2009.
