    Chuck Heater of UF

    University of Florida Athletics ***GatorZone.com***

Mentioned this in an earlier post, but the assistant DC at UF under C. Strong. Has been the recruiting coordinator at Colorado, Washington, Utah, and now Florida. In my mind would be one of the biggest gets, however that might be a stretch.

Could you please give an indication of who the people in the poll are?

I've really only heard of McCarney before, and I really really don't think it's going to be him.

    Re: DC Options...

Heater wouldn't be too bad seems to do a lot of recruiting coach against rhoads when at Colorado.

    Re: DC Options...

If you look at Chuck's resume, he's only had one DC job at the was Colo. St. over 15 years ago. Therefore the promotion to DC MAY (and thats a BIG MAY) be enough to entice him to come here.

I picked Bedford, he just has a great background with DB, plus his resume is steller. But it seems like Rhoads is looking both at coaching and recruiting for each hire so far. I would be happy with either.

I might consider changing my vote to Shipp if he could guarantee bringing that 5 star DT that he outrecruited Texas, LSU and USC to get.

I also voted for Bedford. I like his Big 12 and NFL experience.

    Re: DC Options...

Funny, you said "best fit", and seven people have actually voteds for McCarney. It wasn't "who you want to be our DC"...

No way Mac would come back as an assistant where he was once the HC. Not only because of the way that he was railroaded out of town, but because a large portion of the fanbase would be very unhappy.

It'd be almost like expecting Johnny to come back as an assistant to McDermott. Well, though no one would ever complain about that.

    Re: DC Options...

The one thing with the OU coaches is that they have experience defending the spread offense, and the way they handled Texas Tech was impressive. This is why I chose Bobby Jack Writght.

Would something like this be a lot different than Gable coming back to be an assistant to Brands at Iowa? I see the difference with Mac since he didn't leave on his own accord, but not with the Johnny example.
