    Heart....

That's what I saw last night. I haven't seen it in awhile. I watched the game with some friends, all non ISU fans, and I was proud of our team for the first time in a long time. Granted, they let it slip away at the end, but they showed character last night. I actually feel better about the future now...On a side note, my friends kept asking my why the big white guy kept shooting 3's...I had no answer for that..????

I dont think anyone is questioning their heart or effort. I they keep playing this way, the W's will start to come.

They certainly showed a lot last night. I hope they can keep it up. McDermott's a heck of a coach.

As for the big white guy, he played 5 minutes and shot 2 threes, one of them at the very end. I don't think it's fair to say he "kept shooting 3's".

McD knows how to use timeouts. That is why we switched coaches. WM was asleep at the switch.

    Re: Heart....

I thought GMAC had an awesome gameplan. Towards the end, it looked like they had to speed it back up to give Iowa State a chance to win, and that is how the final score got so far apart. If Iowa State plays that way against a less talented team, they would be up at that point, and still be able to roll with their gameplan. I really hope we see more of that!

    Re: Heart....

You are forgetting the direct correllation. The big white guy didn't see much playing time BECAUSE he shot the threes. If he bought into the theory that he is 6'11" and should play under the bucket, his playing time might improve.

Perhaps CJ was the big white guy . . .

    Re: Heart....

I do have to say they did play with heart and were smarter with posetions and didnt play any of their unorginized run and gun BB we have seen in the past. If we continue to play the way we did last night (smart with meaning) we will enjoy our year much more.

Hats off to Cory Johnson. I'll take a hard working inexperienced team any day over a talented lazy team.

Well, then, it was a much stupider comment, because CJ is shooting over 60% from behind the arc, and was 2-4 in the game last night. He only shot when he was wide open.

I AGREE we need to outwork some of these teams esp in the big 12 conference.
