    Average home football attendance

2007 (originally thought this was 2008, but numbers were released in Feb of 08)

    1. Texas...........85,144
    2. OU...............84,858
    3. Nebraska......84,501
    4. A&M.............82,207
    5. Missouri........60,232
    6. Texas Tech...51,911
    7. CU...............50,509
    8. Iowa State...49,462
    9. K-State........47,383
    10. KU..............46,784
    11. Okie State...40,024
    12. Baylor.........34,378

Overall, ISU 40th out of 119. Kind of surprising Boone Pickens U. only averaged 40K.

I'd imagine we're pretty high up there for fans per win.

ka ching, ka ching, ka ching...

I love to see us add 10 or 15 thousand seats. Even if we didn't sell out every game, we would for Iowa and Nebraska for sure. That be a cool million a year for sure for the athletic budget for those two games(at $50 per seat per game).

    Re: Average home football attendance

I think part of OSU's stadium was closed for construction most of that year.

IIRC an OSU fan saying that ALL conference games were like 85 per ticket.

Yeah, it's ticket prices, not lack of space, that prevents a higher attendance. I don't understand why they charge so much.

Half a million per year. We have a home game every year against either Nebraska or Iowa, not both.

It would be almost a million if we continue to price those tickets at $90 instead of $50. But I think we'd have to get rid of the "season ticket only" requirement to sell an extra 10-15k tickets.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

    Re: Average home football attendance

2008 season average was 47,429, about 2k less. Probably drops us down to 9th or 10th.
