I know you are a Dallas fan, but how does Romo make the Pro Bowl?! He didn't even play for the first 6 weeks of the season...

Wow, I'd take the AFC offense by 20 over the NFC offense...

Who would you take over him? I think the NFC QB with the next highest rating would be Eli Manning and he's been horrible this year.

McNabb or Delhomme. Just because McNabb got hurt, doesn't mean he shouldn't be in the PB.

Delhomme has NOT had a pro-bowl year. Where's Demeco at the LB spot? Those others are good - but its a lifetime acheivement award for some players.

Good question on Romo. It's a product of 2 things...

    A. A down NFC for QB's.
    B. His stellar play.

I can go either way on it. Regardless, I hope this doesn't go to his head. Something tells me, Bill won't let it.

Here is a copy of a post I put up on Ranch Report about Romo. Keep in mind those rankings are NFL rankings, not just NFC.

    Romo: Inside the Numbers

    QB Rating - 98.4% - 2nd in the NFL
    Completion % - 66.3% - 2nd in the NFL
Yards per attempt - 8.84 - 1st in the NFL
    Sacks - 14 - 3rd in the NFL
    TD % - 5.8% - 1st in the NFL

The only stats that are not the best...

    INT's - 10 - 10th in the NFL
    INT % - 3.6 - 20th in the NFL

With the fewer number of games Romo has played in, the INT number aught to be lower. However, 3 game in his first half of football. Eliminate those and he's 4th.

I didn't look at total yards and TD's - as he's not had the number of games to be near the top. Yet even considering that, he ranks 20th in yards and 14th in TD's.

It's pretty amazing what Romo has accomplished so far in his first year playing games in the NFL!
I think one of the bigger snubs was Terrance Newman not getting in, again. I felt it was a small snub last year - but he really deserved it this year. He nearly shuts down his side and did ya see his tackling on Reggie Bush? Reggie made his money going to the other side vs. Dallas.

I liked seeing Larry Allen get in, Dallas could sure still use him.

How does Brian Westbrook not make the roster? No Tom Brady? Wow.

And what in the world is LaDainian Tomlinson doing on that list??

Re: NFL Pro Bowl Rosters Released

NFC is really down at QB:

Choose a ProBowl worthy candidate from: Romo, Farve, Vick, Delhomme, McNabb, Smith

I think Vick ore McNabb gets the slight edge over Romo in my book. Alex Smith would've been in the ProBowl if you were going off of 6 weeks worth of games as in Romo's case.

Can players on IR make the ProBowl? If so McNabb got ROBBED! He should be right behind Brees except for the injury, he was tearing things up!

I think you make a really good point here. If all it takes is 8 weeks of good play to get in, then the guys that didn't get in aught to be able to remove the worst few weeks from their stats and have a shot.

Then again, compare the best 8 weeks of Romo, McNabb, Favre and Vick. Romo is still near the top of that list.

No matter how you slice it, someone always gets snubbed.

Re: NFL Pro Bowl Rosters Released

Love him or hate him, Terrell Owens deserved to make a probowl spot.

Here are the numbers of the people that did and TO's

    Torry Holt: 1044 yards and 10 TD's
Steve Smith: 1081 yards and 7 TD's (one was a rushing score)
    Donald Driver: 1173 yards and 7 TD's
    Anquan Boldin: 1027 yards and 4 TD's

    TO: 1040 yards and 11 TD's

It seems to me he should be there instead of Boldin

This coming from a Cowboy fan, I'm not sad at all that T.O. didn't make the list. Yeah, from a numbers standpoint it's clear he belongs.

Yet I think fans and his peers made a statement that it's not just about your individual stats that gets you amongst the league elite.

Maybe this will make him play more and talk less.

And yet, I highly doubt it.

I agree about Westbrook...how does he not get in?!

What if Westbrook rushes for 400 yards in the next 2 games which puts him on to of the NFC??? My point is: Why does the NFL vote for the Pro Bowl with 2 games remaining? Why not wait until 16 games are played?

    ISUfan 22,

I also don't want him in, but I think his merits should almost get him in.

Hate TO...ok, well I really dislike him and his antics but I agree 100% that he should be there.

At least the NFL isn't baseball and let the fans determine the starters. Baseball players who haven't played a single game all season are voted as All-Star starters...

I understood exactly what you were saying.

I'm glad his character is catching up to him when it comes to receiving (or not receiving in this case) accolades for his on-field performance.

Plus, an actual stat - T.O. does lead the league in drops. Gotta factor that in when looking at his good numbers too. I bet, if he had limited some of those drops - he'd be in even in spite of the character stuff. He cost Dallas one game for sure, if not two.
