    Terrelle Pryor > Vince Young?

I've had the opportunity to see Pryor play several times this season. The base skill sets are remarkably similar, but I think that in the long run, Pryor is going to be better--perhaps much better--than Vince Young.

Why? Not just because he's taller.

He seems to run much better. While Young was a strong (literally) runner, Pryor is much more fluid.

Pryor also appears to have a better arm. Not just stronger, but a much better feel for the passing game--I've seen him make some incredible throws.

Not to put pressure on Pryor, of course (as if he didn't have enough), I just think that, as a freshman, Pryor looks like he'll be a better player than Young was.

    Anyone else?

When Pryor can beat USC in a NC at the ROSE BOWL!!!, then we can talk similarities.

    otherwise, Pryor is NO Young.

I've seen true freshmen with a better feel for the passing game than Pryor. His running ability is remarkable. I'm not sure if he will be better than Young running the ball, but he won't be worse. They are very similar. I do think he can improve his throwing game more than Young did though.

Pryor may appear to be a better runner, but...
Young averaged 7.4 yds/rush as a freshman (135 attempts), Pryor 4.5 yds/rush (139 attempts). Young averaged 6.5 and 6.8 as a sophomore and junior, respectively.

    Right.

Rather premature at this point to compare the two - even more so to state in the comparison that Pryor may be better than Young was.

Neither have solid passing skills. If Pryor improves in this department, he is gonna be pretty wicked.

They both have deceptive speed, that is for sure. It doesn't look like they are going very fast but those long strides make up for it.

We will see when Pryor is a Junior.

Ditto on the USC/NC/Rose Bowl comment. Young's performance in that game alone has his legend written in stone.

Re: Terrelle Pryor > Vince Young?

Pryor looked horrid passing the ball last night. Toward the end of the game he threw every ball at the receiver's feet.

If I were Tressell I'd get a real QB and use Pryor all over the field, as a runner/receiver/thrower.

Re: Terrelle Pryor > Vince Young?

They are literally carbon copies of each other both physically and the way they play the game when you compare them as freshman. Pryor tends to underthrow the ball as did Young as a Frosh. I can't believe how identical they are and how Pryor just runs away from people when they have sure-fire hits on him.

Re: Terrelle Pryor > Vince Young?

Pryor needs his game IQ a little higher. He looked afraid to take a hit for most of the game and gave up yards just to avoid the hit. If teams find out they can rattle him with a couple of big hits he will have some problems. I dont recall him taking a big hit last night but I do remember him scampering out of bounds and losing 5+ yards.
