    Any word on DC yet????

Has anyone heard of a DC being announced yet? I would think with the dead period being over that this would definitely be a position to have filled. I would want my DC visiting every one of the committed defensive players to convince them to hold that commit. Instead, these kids are curious to know who it might be and if they want to play for the new coordinator.

Saw on CR that a 6th assistant was to be named today.....could that be the DC or is Coach Rhoads going to have those duties with a Co-defensive coordinator/position coach????

I am beggining to wonder if the players the old coaches recruited are worthy of a scholly at this point. The recruiting class seams very weak. I would rather try and keep a few and kill it next year.

I think the old regime was counting on some guys like Knight, Gaines, and Spence to come through. Losing McHargue was a tough one, but I like what else we have on offense, and the LB corp looks pretty good. I'm sure that we are still in on Marry because of his connection to LJ, but I don't know about any of the other guys like Gaines and Spence. And Knight going JUCO?? What's up with that?

I don't think it is weak at all. Say what you want about Chizik, he could evaluate talent. Last year's class wasn't that much higher rated and we've seen some great players already from that class. Not to mention, it is way too late in the recruiting process to start over. It's easier to convince a current commit or recruit to stick with ISU than start a whole new relationship with a player. Ten spots is a ton to fill this late. I don't know that CPR should be running guys off to make the job tougher. They will kill it next year regardless of how this class turns out.

So far 2 of those guys have proved they are good. I would not say the rest of them have proved anything. Some of them have started but did you see the results? So basically I would say they have proved nothing except Darks and L. Johnson.

Maybe we had to spend a lot of money on Herman, and Rhoads will save the budget by being our DC. Probably not, just a thought.

I was wondering if, since the OC was announced following Rice's Bowl game, if we were waiting for someone else to complete their Bowl game....

That would seem to leave UT, OSU, UF, OU...and oh yeah, Ball State and Tulsa.
