Why Bo & Schwartz should be excited

    1. Rice's leading RB C.J. Ugokwe ran for 809 yards, 4.8 ypc and 12.8 carries/game. ISU's leading rusher Alexander Robinson ran for 703 yards, 4.6 ypc and 12.75 carries/game. So Bo or A-Rob should expect more yards, more ypc and equal to more touches under the new coach than before.
      1. ESPN - Rice Owls Statistics - College Football
      2. ESPN - Iowa State Cyclones Statistics - College Football
    2. Rice's RB was ranked 75th, A-Rob was 72nd. Very similar.
      1. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlRank.js...rrush&site=org
    3. Rice's 3rd leading rusher behind the QB was their TIGHT END James Casey with 241 yards, 4.2 ypc, 4.4 carries/game and 6 rushing TD's. ISU's 3rd leading rusher behind the QB was RB Jason Scales with 185 yards, 3.1 ypc, 5 carries/game and 5 TD's. See team stats on above links.
      1. TE as 3rd leading rusher shows that Tom Herman will find ways to get his most talented players the ball AND that he knows and uses big short yardage backs in the Red Zone.
      2. Do you really think a Mensa member coach will only play favorite players or not look for ways to play the best players? That's Chizik-dumb, not Mensa smart.
    4. Rice had 965 offensive plays and 74 plays/game(965/13). ISU had 841 offensive plays and 70 plays/game (841/12).
      1. Rice Season Recaps
      2. ISU Season Recaps
So the stats show that Bo will be at worst the same under the new coaches for carries, but most likely will have more and will play in an extra game (bowl game).

If I'm Schwartz, I'm really excited for next year - he should expect to be used a lot more than a TE for 3rd leading rusher.

Coach Herman will NOT play favorites, too good of a coach to do so, he just wants to win....

I mentioned on a different thread I was not a fan of Ugokwe, the only reason he ran for 800 yards was because of the great offensive scheme he ran. With talented RB's which it sounds like are on the ISU team it will only get better!!

It will be very interesting to see BO. He was a 4-star recruit that went to the Florida Gators, then transferred to ISU. He sat out last year. I hope he is 1/2 as good as advertised. I believe he had a knee injury, not sure if he is fully recovered.

I'm interested to see Tiller, he might be better suited for the short, control passing game.

I don't think you can compare Rice's offensive output to ours considering we play much better defenses throughout the season than they do.

I saw Bo play in the spring game last year, but he was only in a little because his knee was still pretty sore im sure. In one play he made a shifty move that Scales or A-rob didnt do ever in the season, and had about a 15 yard gain. He'll be awesome if he gets the playing time that he should get over Robinson. Whatever happened to J.J. Bass this year??? He never played?? Was he hurt?

he played just a little in the first half but played a lot in the 2nd half of the spring game (from what I remember). My buddy and I were in shock that this guy was wearing a ISU uniform and couldn't wait for the 09 season. He reminded me a lot of Ricky Williams on the football field (hopefully he is not like that off the field )

Bo is a lethal combination of size, speed, and power.

I really hope our O-Line can open some holes. We are gonna have some great options between ARob, Bo, and Schwartz

I don't think any RB is going to be excited about 12 carries a game, no matter what the system is.

Palmer---try not to wet yourself everytime I post. You'll go through less underwear throughout the day.

Read the original post and my comment again.

No RB is going to be happy with 12 touches a game. That's what we gave the RB's and that's what he gave the RB's. No reason for them to be thrilled/happy/mildy optimistic based on what he did prior.

Now go stalk someone else, Palmer.

    Can you be more specific?

I've responded a lot to The City, if that's what you're referring to. The kids part you're referencing, I don't understand, though.

    Do explain.

Re: Why Bo & Schwartz should be excited

If you look at the initial post and the sheer stupidity of the points he's trying to make and how he's trying to do it, I think you can agree a negative response was warranted.

"So the stats show that Bo will be at worst the same under the new coaches for carries, but most likely will have more and will play in an extra game (bowl game). "

Yes, the stats clearly show that.
