    New TV

I want a buy a new one for my bedroom. Looking at a 26 inch LCD flat screen. Not in a big hurry on this.

Anybody have any good ideas on when some good sales will be running. Superbowl week a good time?

I'm probably going to get a Sony, Samsung, or Panasonic depending on which one will be the best deal.

Get an LG if you can. I got a 42" and it may go down as my best purchase ever

Just wait on it. I've heard tale of 32" LCD's dropping to around $350 later in the year. The economy should continue to drive prices down.

    Re: New TV

Samsungs are nearly always the best quality hands-down, but they're also usually way more expensive than other brands at the same size. Pick your poison.

I've found that you should do careful measurements, figure out what screen size you think you need, and then go up one standard size. If you think you need a 26", then get a 32". I live in a single room in Friley (read: 12'x12' box) and a 26" was too small for my room. A 32" was perfect. If you have a friend that would let you borrow their LCD and bring it into your room (even if it's not the size you're looking at buying) that can help a LOT in giving you an idea of what you should get.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

    Re: New TV

Many Vizio models are pretty good. if you are looking for a smaller size tv they are a good price as well so they are worth looking at.

Only if you are looking for a small TV. 32" or 36" is the absolute maximum I would get a Vizio for. I used to think they were good TVs at great prices, until I saw one next to some other brands. Vizios are remarkably low-quality pieces of crap.

I am happy with my 46" vizio. Great Price. Great Picture.

If you don't need any technical support I would check out Sams Club. They typically have some pretty good prices on electronics.

    Re: New TV

One of my friends said it best "you should never buy a NEW tv for your bedroom. You should buy a new (bigger) tv for your living room and move the old one to your bedroom." That's how I ended up with a 37" LCD sitting on top of my dresser and a 52" in my living room.
