    Re: Bears fans....

Non-Bears fans don't necessarily hate the Bears. We just see them for what they are.

I don't have a lot of problems with the article. Tampa Bay and Arizona are BAD - a comeback by Manning or Farve is one thing, but Rattay?!?! Tim frick'n Rattay?

    Re: Bears fans....

Sounds like someone has something personal against Lovie and the Bears...

Who is favored in these games? Someone please tell me:

    Bears vs. NY Giants
    Bears vs. Philly
    Bears vs. Seahawks
    Bears vs. Cowboys
    Bears vs. Saints

In Chicago...I can guarantee that the Bears are favored in EVERY single one of these games. So maybe they aren't quite as bad as the Oakland Raiders as Gene points out.

If he wants to analyze Chicago's season based on 2 games, then go for it. But that is terrible reporting and journalism. Every NFL team has played poorly at least 2 weeks this season...

    Re: Bears fans....

Being 12-2 in a league with as much parity as the NFL means something...I don't care if the North is god-awful...that's only 6 of the 16 games on the schedule.

It's not terrible. He got a little bit nasty with Lovie, but outside of that, most people outside of Chicago will agree with him. Denny Green was right: The Bears are who we thought they were.

They can win the superbowl, but I wouldn't bet on it. Too many weaknesses.

    Re: Bears fans....

Exactly. It's hard enough to win in the NFL but to only have 2 losses the entire season?? I don't care if you play the Lions every single week, it's next to impossible! I mean put the Bears, Saints, Cowboys, and Seahawks in the same division and it still wouldn't be that great in the eyes of the media. I'm not saying the Bears will cruise to a Super Bowl championship but it's absolutely ridiculous to think that they're this overrated. I personally hope they play their entire third string team the next 2 weeks, lose both games, rest everyone up for another week, then have at it.

Listen up all Colts and Bears fans.

We are not saying parts of your team aren't very very good. We're saying a portion of the team: Bears O, Colts D is SIGNIFICANTLY lacking and has shown severe problems that are not common in a Superbowl contender.

    That said.
Grossman became the first Bears QB to throw for more that 300 yards in 73 games ... 73!, so I guess he's the best you've had for a long time in a while. 73, I still can't believe that number ...

Please list these "many weaknesses" and then give me a list of teams that don't have a couple question marks (AFC included). I guess I'm just cranky because everyone is so high on Dallas and New Orleans, but why?? New Orleans just lost AT HOME to Washington while the Bears pull out a win with a third of their starting defense injured and the Bears are the overrated ones??? I can see MAYBE putting the top few NFC teams on the same level but to drop the Bears below any of the other teams is ridiculous.

So when is the other shoe going to drop?? The Bears O has been below-average all year but they've still only lost twice. Have they just gotten "lucky" all year? Their defense is unbelievable and that's why they're so good.

Name one team (outside of the San Diego Chargers) that don't have an area that is lacking.

Also, the Bears offense is ranked #15 in the NFL...not great but not terrible by any means. They rank #9 in rush offense as well.

I'd list their weaknesses, but the article already did.

    Re: Bears fans....

Calm down wonka, the Bears will be just fine.

This guy (like many in his profession) needs to stir the pot to justify his job. The article's argument hinges on his assumption that the games will be played on paper, not on the January tundra of Soldier Field.

The Bears have looked good and then not so good - just like every other team in the NFL this year. They've done the work to clinch home field, now they can concentrate on getting healthy and setting up the playoff games by adding a few new wrinkles.

Bear haters are just jealous. Jealous of the record and the schedule, which I might add was set up by the NFL (not Bill Snyder).

    Re: Bears fans....

Weaknesses: QB, RB2, O-Line, WRs (I like Jones and the TE play).

I for one do not like the Cowboys and since someone has to win the NFC I give the nod to the Bears. Is that respect or resignation? One or the other - Bears win the NFC.

    Re: Bears fans....

I know, I've just heard this crap all year long and feel like my team's getting a little slighted while the "media darlings" get a free pass whenever they look vulnerable. Oh well, the playoffs should be fun!!
