    Re: Veenker Golf Course

Didn't they go to bent grass because it keeps flooding and therefore when it does flood it won't set them back so much everytime?

    Re: Veenker Golf Course

I hope they don't raise the prices!

Veenker is one of my favorite places to golf in/around Ames because of how generous they are to students! Their prices are great on Monday and Thursdays and everyone that plays there and works there seems to be nice and respect other people and students!

They always get me and all my friends business when we go golfing in large groups.

There will be no price raises for next year because of the amount of time they have been shut down. You will be excited with the changes that were made. It will be a great place to golf once open next april ? may?

I haven't played there since I graduated in 1998. What are the non-student prices on the weekend around? Since getting Wii and Tiger Woods' golf, I can't wait to get out and starting my wish list now of places to play next year.

    1. Harverster (played early this year, very brown but nice course)
    2. Boss Landen (sp?)
    3. Veenker
    4. Blue Top Ridge (or whatever it is in Riverside)
    5. Wolf Creek, NV (Un-Fing-Believable!!!)
    6. Copper Creek (Really liked)
    7. Otter Creek (Awesome, love it, can't ever get on though)
    8. Waveland (What a great surprise, looking forward to the next time)
    9. The Legends
    10. Glenn Oaks (If I can find a way on...)

    Not in any particular order...

Harvester is pretty nice. Got married there last spring. TCI in Polk City is another favorite of mine.

    Re: Veenker Golf Course

I'm very excited for the bent grass. I talked to the sup (John Newton) out there and he said they've been wanting to do it for 10 years. Lots of reasons I guess. I play league out there and my only pet peeve is that no one fixes their divots on the greens.

You should add Coldwater to your list it is one of my favorites. I am also looking forward to trying the new course at Honey Creek Resort.

    Re: Veenker Golf Course

Is Coldwater the one in Ames? I thought it was 6. Copper Creek... TCI was the one I forgot off the top of my head. I loved playing that course last year. I do like Amana a lot as well, just not sure how many of these courses I will get to play. :)
