    QB/WR prospect?

Came across this and wondered if anyone else had heard about it...

"Early in the week, a Muskogee assistant football coach said Roughers quarterback Rell Lewis had committed to Iowa State.

Although the Cyclones appear to be the front-runner for Lewis, he said this week he hasn't made a final choice."

(ISU is the only offer he has on the table right now)

    (From The Oklahoman newspaper)

Here's a link to the Scout.com site about him)

He's pretty short for a quarterback or wide receiver. Good speed but not lightning. I imagine we'd put him at receiver?

I'd put him by the water cooler to keep the cups full. Too short for QB and too slow for wideout. If your short you would like the person to be fast to be atleast be a deep threat. Oh well.

Having only seven recruits this late in the game ISU will probably take anybody with pulse.

After looking at his info, it looks like he was offered by ISU in October, so I'd say yes...

    Hey...he gave him a chance...to play wa-wa-water boy.

He'll have stiff competition from Adam Sandler though.

Really, the guy is too short. Look at Seneca Wallace - he never amounted to anything with his diminutive size.

    Re: QB/WR prospect?

Saw Rell Lewis at 100% as a junior and he is a great player. Maybe not a QB in D1, but he would be a great DB. Databases say he runs a 4.5, but I would say that is being conservative or it was after he returned fom ligment surgery.

Chris Harris 6'0"/180/4.5 WR/DB from Bixby, OK has expressed an interest in ISU, but he hasn't been offered. Visited Kansas and was offered.

    Re: QB/WR prospect?

The kid at least deserves a chance...too often people get caught up in numbers, and not whether or not the kid can actually play...my high school's offensive line averaged 6'3'', 260lbs...sounds good-but none of them could block...

    Re: QB/WR prospect?

Sorry I'm not getting too excited about a guy that is 5'10 and weighs only 190lbs with average speed for that size. Players of that size don't typically make good QB's or WR's which is what he's being recruited as. The only reason Milan Moses even plays for the Cyclones is because of the history his family has at ISU. I'm not saying the guy won't amount to anything but it looks like ISU is set at the QB position for a couple years and ISU also usually goes after the big recievers. This guy comes as a complete shock and if he amounts to anything then great and good for him. I'm just not expecting anything special out of him. People must remember if every recruit is so great that we are going after then why isn't everybody after him and why haven't those type of recruits panned out for us the past few years?
