    Hamilton

I noticed he got thestart and played 25 min! Looks like he played solid! 12 boards (5 offensive) 2 blocks & 8 points!! Saw Thompson only got 8 min. Is there a changing of the center? Wanted to know if anyone had any insight as to why the change? Good to see for the future though.

    Re: Hamilton

I was looking for a thread like this. Nice game for Justin, he just needs to get a little more "basketball" strength.

    Re: Hamilton

Alex had badly sprained ankle and not able to go. He did play a few
minutes. Hamilton did a great job.

Alex Thompson hurt his ankle and was not able to go very much tonight.

    Re: Hamilton

If Hamilton can prove he can be an adequate defender, he'll continue to see more and more minutes. I say this a lot, but for a relative basketball newbie, he seems to know his positioning well. He also is a pretty good shooter, both in and out. Hopefully he can start learning more post moves. As you saw tonight, if Craig can have a decent low post threat beside him, he's that much more dangerous.

Hamilton earned some more PT tonight.

Agreed. I appreciate a guy like AT in that he plays hard and doesn't make alot of mistakes, but he's also not a huge asset on the floor. To me he's the guy between Hubalek and whoever steps up next year. It would be great to see Hamilton be that guy rather than counting on a newcomer next season.

I wouldn't count him out. Give him another year of weight room and court time and let's check out where he gets. He seems to be an extremely determined individual (google Justin Hamilton and PB & J sandwiches ).

If the Freshman is better than the senior then why not... I think the Alex Thompson five year two school experiment is about to come to an end...

    Re: Hamilton

I've been thinking for a while now that Hamilton is THE key to next season. Folks keep talking about Colvin/Gilstrap but if Hamilton really makes some strides from now to next year we might really have something.

Hamilton is key for 09' imho.

Also notice that Boozer was one of the first players off the bench and got a lot of the Eik/Haluska minutes.

    Re: Hamilton

Glad to see Hamilton come along... playing Thompson and Peterson isn't going to win us many Big 12 games. Let's start developing the talented freshman and sophomores

    Re: Hamilton

Hamilton will give you more on offense than AT but the key is can he provide the same thing AT does on the defensive side? If he can he'll take minutes away from AT. I like Hamilton's big body in there and if he can work on some post moves he'll stick as a starter. Remember how some thought he'd be too weak before he showed up on campus? He's obviously bulked up and I think he has a bright future ahead of him if he keeps improving.
