Ditto on the not liking the Patriots. Not sick of them I guess, just tired of them.

    Re: Ellis Hobbs, TD!

Yeah E Hobbs is easy to cheer for. Great representative of the University. Not only an exciting, talented player having success in the NFL, but a great guy as well.

Some other personalities in the NFL could take a lesson from Hobbs on being an outspoken, vocal, outgoing guy.... yet still a class act.

    Way to go Hobbs!

He needed this type of game considering he was benched last week. Maybe this gets him back on track and hopefully his wrist can get better.

    Ellis Hobbs Big Play

93 yard touchdown run burns the Houston Texans.
    http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/recap/NFL_20061217_HOU@NE

"You want to respond," Hobbs said. "You don't want (their) offense to get momentum, feel like they can do something. That's a big downer for them, a big morale lifter for us."

Ellis also returned an interception for 9 yards. He might receive some recognition.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

    Re: Ellis Hobbs, TD!

So has anybody seen him on TV (forgive me, I don't remember what network) when the players introduce themselves and say their college at the beginning of the game? I've seen him twice and both times, he said his high school (DeSoto, TX), not Iowa State. What's up with that?

(I'm not bashing him...love Ellis...just curious if anybody has heard why he does that)

They do that on ESPN. I think this year he has said his high school. Last year he said "The up and coming Iowa State Cyclones"

    Re: Ellis Hobbs, TD!

They've showed the Hobbs TD return just a few times tonight on NBC and ESPN.

Nifty run, basically all straight-ahead - running by people.

    Re: Ellis Hobbs, TD!

to quote the announcer on his kick return- "That guy can scoot!"

Go Ellis! but I must admit I'm a little put-off by him naming his high school instead of ISU...

Next year he'll probably shout out Iowa State again. Gotta give some love to the hometown too once in awhile.
