    TO spitting and Knicks brawl

Wow, 2 big incidents last night. TO spits in DeAngelo Hall's face and 10 players ejected in the Knicks/Nuggets game with about 1:30 left in the game.

TO: What an idiot, I hope the Cowboys cut ties with him at the end of the season and he winds up playing in the Canadian league or something as he has to be the biggest headcase ever in professional sports history. He basically gets a clean slate in Dallas and all he's done is continue to do the same stupid things that got him ran out of San Fancisco and Philly. I can't image that any team will want to gamble on him if he is let go, at least not if you want to be a contender in the NFL.

Knicks: wow, what a blow to Carmelo's image. The fight was starting to cool down and he comes in and lands a haymaker. I would not be surprised if Issiah had told them to commit a hard foul because he thought the Nuggets were running up the score though. Seems like anything Issiah touches turns to crap and this incident definately could hurt his bid to keep his job at the end of the season. Will be interesting to see how stiff the fines and suspensions are in this one.

I'm waiting to see the video stuff on TO...as Hall hasn't always been the most honest guy. Not saying it didn't happen...just want to see it before I make a judgment.

On the brawl, words can't describe my disgust and embarrassment.

    ISUFan22,
TO admitted he did it, you do not need to see video evidence.

I am sure glad these are role models for our kids and are making millions of dollars. I was beginning to think our sports figures were going down the wrong path.

    TO admitted he did it,
Yes he did, wanting more attention.
isufan, I know you are a Cowboys fan, he has been a problem at San Fran and Philly. Do the Cowboys find a way to control him or let him go?
Also would anyteam be stupid enough to pick him up for a forth chance?

Don't get me wrong, I don't like T.O. at all, and I don't like the way he goes about his business, but he can straight up play. Teams know exactly what they are getting when they pick him up: A huge headache, and a receiver that can help make you a title contender. I can say with confidence that if, for some reason, the Cowboys let him go, he'll get picked up. Some GM is going to go, "Hey, we can deal with the crap, and he'll make our team better." How can you not say that about a receiver that has averaged almost 15 yards per catch over his entire career? He has 793 catches, 549 of them for first down yardage, and 112 touchdowns. Each team he has played for has done well. The 49ers went into a tailspin after he left, the Eagles finally made it to the Super Bowl, and the Cowboys are currently leading the NFC East with two games to play. Yes, T.O. is a huge headache, but he's also a great receiver.

he does have a lot of drops this year. You could argue some of them might (MIGHT) have cost the cowboys a game.

Re: TO spitting and Knicks brawl

On the spitting, I had not heard the interview yet. Heard it when we were in the car.

T.O. needs to be sat for a game. Likely won't be by the NFL, but I'd like to see Parcells sit him for at least a half - if not a full game.

On his drops, I think a lot of that has to do with the plate now in his hand - think about how you would respond having a surgery and metal plate put in your hand. Plus, have a finger that's still not right.

Regardless, he leads the NFL in drops and the loss to Washington can be directly tied to one of his worst drops.

49er fans made excuses for TO and he tore the team apart.

Eagles fans made excuses for TO and he tore the team apart.

Its probably totally different with the Cowboys ...

    Making excuses? Where?

    I merely state facts.

    - He has injury issues with his hands
    - He leads the league in drops
    - One drop directly related to a loss

Re: TO spitting and Knicks brawl

Ummm, the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl WITHOUT TO. He broke his ankle and missed like the last 4-6 games right? He came back to play in the Super Bowl and they still didn't win with him. He may have been great in the first part of the season but he was not the sole reason they made it to the SB, they did that without him.

I know someone will be dumb enough to take a chance on him but does anyone here want him to be on their favorite NFL team? Even as WR starved as my Chiefs are I would NEVER root for TO is the Chiefs were stupid enough to acquire such a headcase. I'd actually hope that he injured himself somehow and didn't play the rest of the season because if you keep the guy away from your team it's probably the best way to deal with his antics.

Re: TO spitting and Knicks brawl

That is not entirely true travman. T.O. only missed the last 2 games of the regular season. They lost their last 2 games in which he was out. However, not likely because T.O. was missing - but because they sat their starters those final 2 games - because they had already clinched everything - with T.O. playing in the first 14 games (13-1).

In the 2 play-off games - the Eagles were not nearly as impressive as they had been during the season. That was attributed to sitting their guys the final 2 games and not having T.O.

I have never liked T.O. and still really don't care for him - even with him on my team. Yet we aught to at least bash him with the facts - not paint a picture that didn't take place.

Am I crazy to suggest 20+ game suspension for Carmelo Anthony? I'm sure others willl see 5-10 game suspensions too. Ugly!

I don't think Carmelo will get 20+ games. I think he'll get 10 games and a stiff fine. The other guys will probably get 2-5 games depending on how involved they were.

I was sooo disappointed to see that tape. Lebron, Wade and Melo were the perfect trio to lead the new NBA, they were together, the next Jordan, the next Magic/Bird ... the next big thing in pro-basketball.

Now the image is tainted because Melo needs to get his thug on. He had some issues earlier in his career when he appeared in the "cop killer" video for some small time rapper. But he played so well in the Worlds this summer it looked like he was back - he's even leading the league in PPG. Dumbest move this side of drafting Mario Williams.

It was so cheap of a shot he should get 20 games and have to wear a pick skirt for the next 10.
