What I am Missing Most About the Good Ole Days

Well, besides the wins of course, is the passion from Floyd, LE, and to a lesser degree even Johnny. They coached like every game and point was the last on earth. They coached like they had something to prove even after they found some success. They hammered every call and every mistake. Coats flew and tempers flared. Every coach has his own style but I would love to see a little more urgency that would hopefully carry over to the players.

    UFC is not as sport.

All things flow according to the whims of the great magnet.

I think Mac is concerned with more players transferring, so he has cut back on some of that. If you recall in year one, he would get pretty upset at mistakes and immediately remove a player from the game if he did something stupid. We don't see that anymore.

I miss Coach Floyd. He was always my favorite

I remeber some of that but I also remember Taylor running around like a chicken with his head cut off launching shots and turning the ball over. Yeah, he was all we had but I question whether his game improved during his time at ISU...but I digress. I hope for McDermott's sake that he can turn loose when he needs to. If he is scared of running players off he is coaching with a handicap.

That's my concern. For the life of me, I can't figure out why he doesn't put Craig on the bench when he is forcing crap, which is often, and will continue to be often if something isn't done.

Re: What I am Missing Most About the Good Ole Days

I agree about needing more passion. I remember making a game out of how early in each game Floyd would take his coat off, then his tie, when I was a kid.

by the by, anyone know why my new signature might not be showing up?
