    Why?

Is the one positive post(GMac postgame --- feeling better) on tonight's game closed? Is CF pushing for the GMac firing?

Check the first post in the meltdown thread.

That's probably your answer. My guess is that it got closed/merged.

But, it's not a meltdown post. It's the one positive post on here.

This one hasn't been closed yet, use it.

    Re: Why?

I think "Meltdown" was just used as humor as much as anything else. There don't need to be two threads, one for positive things and one for negative. I'm sure the thinking is that it just cuts down on the clutter, no hidden intents.

    Re: Why?

I didn't see the thread, but if it is as you say, then I agree. Any positive posts in the meltdown thread are just going to be drowned out with the negativity.

Here it is, from Spokane Cy (We can start over):
    <<<
Has hard time changing offense when they had open lanes but couldn't finish. Said they had numerous 4-5' shots but it comes down to making the bucket.

Inconsistency attributed to youth. Had great practices but when ball tipped kids tanked.

Need to find way to free up shooters. Other than DG, nobody's game is really taking it to the hoop.

Said guards are maybe trying too hard finding CB. Either they look in too long and he gets doubled, or they don't look quite long enough. Inexperience but he HAS to get the ball.

Sorry - but I'm back on the bandwagon. We are a young team made up of jumpshooters. We have much more athleticism coming next year and our frosh and sophs will be sophs and juniors. Gilstrap will give us a needed dimension. Colvin will give us an added dimension. Hoping Pomlee uses his RS wisely. Loss sucks - NONE of us are used to these kind of losses at Hilton. I still feel better days are ahead with GMac. I do wish the program could fastforward a year...

Merry Christmas to all --- hope you can regain your perspective.
    >>>

I don't think this should have been closed. Perhaps they'll let us know in the morning...wait, it is morning.

    Man, what a night.

Perfect post to end the night. Let's all just regroup and meet here tomorrow

I think, because of the current state of emotions, it will end up turning into meltdown thread #2. Like I'm sure this one will.

    Re: Why?

Next year, next year, next year, next year, next year...this guy is coming.

Can you imagine once Colvin gets here? It's gonna be incredible.

Just wait until we get Lucca and Eik on the floor at the same time. We're going to be impossible to stop.

As Cyclone fans, we love next year. We're always going to be good next year, because it's a year away.

I'm sick of hope with this basketball team. Mac has a 1-5 record against the SDSU coach lifetime. I'm guessing they've played with similar talent most those years. We supposedly have an NBA player on our roster, yet still lost this year.

That leads me to believe that they have the better coach.

Serious question: Is there a coach in America that GMac has a winning record against?

    Re: Why?

Maybe Alford or one of our former HCs?

A little levity never hurt. I'm tired of hating myself for being a Cyclone!

    Re: Why?

The issue is that we had Floyd and Larry that took ISU to the next level in basketball. Sweet sixteens, elite 8's and being in tourney play most every year. The past 4 years have not been fun to watch and there is little hope that ISU is going to get there this year or even next.

McD was the coach to get 3 years ago, KSU, Mizzou, and Iowa (fans wanted Alford gone) wanted him - but he came to ISU and we thought it was great. Well it appears that McD maybe over matched for big 12 play and expectations. And I have been disappointed in the lack of fundamentals his teams have shown, which I thought was one of the main reasons he had the reputation he did.

I hope I am wrong about McD because I think he is a great guy and greater leader for our young players. HOWEVER, the loosing has to stop and ISU needs to get into Tourney play, because between football winning 2-3 games a year and our recent basketball lack of success - Fans are going to stop donating and coming to ISU for the performances we are being given.

    Re: Why?

I think McDermott likes to coach (micromanage) a certain type of player/team, and the type of talent and team you need to win in our conference does not fit that mold. How do you explain our inability to score late in games? McDermott runs these stupid offensive sets that turn into absolutely nothing. Run a motion offense and let the players get it done...

    Re: Why?

It's a positive thread! (Just in case no one had noticed). I certainly think there is room for a small positive thread to bring balance to the Force.
