    Feel Good Story

Its nice to know that there are still good people in this world.

Rick Reilly: Gainesville State high school football gets the best gift of all, hope - ESPN The Magazine

I've always been a fan of Rick Reilly and was really disappointed when he left SI but he definitely found a good story here.

    Re: Feel Good Story

I know that it usually isn't appropriate to bump your own threads, but I was looking around at the new website and saw this listed in my posts. I re-read the story, and I love that there are still good people in the world.

    Re: Feel Good Story

this is def worth bumping.. great story

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

    Re: Feel Good Story

That's an amazing story. Most people that aren't around it don't know how much stuff like that means to those kids. I use to coach kids at the Boys and Girls Club and, although not incarcerated, just like these kids most of them didn't have any support or structured family life and it was always great to see their eyes light up when a parent, coach, or fan from another team would take time to come tell them how much fun it was to watch them play and wish them well in the future.
