    2008 Line Up

The potential line up would be ridiculous:

    G-Diante Garrett
    G-Dodie Dunson / Lucca Steiger
    F-Negedu / Cory Johnson
    F-Wesley Johnson
    C-Brackins 6'10 / Alex Thompson

Wow, Can you say most athletic starting lineup in Big XII History Baby!

Would Jeffrey Jordan have the pedigree to come play for ISU?

Alex Thompson will start the next 2 years. I like what is going on though.

    Re: 2008 Line Up

I like the looks of that lineup...at least in my own personal fantasy land where everything works out.

Not sure we can say it'd be the most athletic lineup in Big XII history...I remember a lot of Okie State, OU, KU, and Texas lineups that had a lot of quick, jumping-jack, 6'7" and better players on them.

I certainly hope it all comes together.

There is no way he would start over Wesley or Brackins. He shot 31% from the field at Iowa last year, is he better than Negedu, a top 25 recruit in the country and potentially our 2nd five star recruit ever?

Alex Thompson would start for us right now. He's much better now than he ever was or would have been at Iowa. I watched him all summer and saw a talented big that will be very good for us with a year of practice, good coaching, and weight lifting. I think there's a very good chance he'll start for two years, even if Negedu comes here.

    Re: 2008 Line Up

He will be 4th year Junior. He is a guy that isn't afraid of contact. I will take him over a freshman any day. I think people are going to be suprised at how good he will be for us. I am tired of 185lb post players that get pushed around. I am expecting Brackins to get pushed around next year as a freshman, but get really good by the end of the season or his sophmore season. Does anyone know how his knee is? I really would like to see this for 08.

    G-Diante Garrett/Dunson
    G-Dodie Dunson / Lucca Steiger
    F-Wesley Johnson /Negedu
    F-Alex Thompson/Cory Johnson/Negedu
    C-Brackins 6'10 / Marsden

Like your enthusiasm like the lineup...wouldn't call it most athletic ever in Big 12. (not even at ISU), but has potential under GMac to be best at ISU and contend for Big 12

Sorry, I made the comment tongue in cheek, meant to be a spoof of Duke Vitale. Which lineup at ISU was more athletic? I think Wesley, Negedu, and Brackins would be more special physically than any frontcourt trio we have ever had. I have heard Garrett with his NBA pedigree also has some special ability. You throw in Dodie and his one handed (left at that) slams as a freshman and I think a case could be made it is potentially our most athletic ever at ISU.

    Re: 2008 Line Up

throw Buckley into potential players for that season too, he seems like he prolly has a lot of talent and will be in the top 10 for 2008, but why worry about 2008, 2007 will be a better year with the depth!!!!

    Re: 2008 Line Up

Remember we will also have Buckley, Eikmeir and Boozer. They may not be starters but have to be in the equation. Boozer will be a sophomore that year, Buckley may be the truest point guard on the roster and Eikmeir may be GMac's next Ben Jacobson (the player, not the coach) With those three and Dodie, Staiger and Garrett we will have phenomenol depth and size in the backcourt to go along w/ our talented frontcourt.

Someone tell Big Mac to stop bringing in so much talent. He is making the internet message board prognostication too difficult!

    Re: 2008 Line Up

So I guess our biggest fear now is that these guys are so good they will be leaving as NBA lottery picks after one year here.

I'm just really pumped about Mac and the b-ball program. This coach could be here for a long time, and this could be a great chapter in ISU b-ball history!

Absolutely..... I see GMAC staying with Iowa State for many years, and I see a good chance of a string of NCAA tournament appearance starting in 2008.

    Re: 2008 Line Up

Add Taylor to the starting lineup. He's too good, he's not going to be coming off of the bench next year to a bunch of newcomers.
