2011? Keep the OOC schedule or drop it?

    @ Uconn and @ Utah.

Marty and Miller are split on whether or not to keep this schedule.
It is 3 seasons away. Whos to say ISU wont be a strong team by then? Im sick of everyone saying ISU needs to get out of this schedule. I think thats BULL.

I have high hopes that this program turns the corner and is well prepared for teams like this.

Screw that. That is probably one of the hardest schedules in all of division 1 football. Not to mention we still have to play Texas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech.

I'd drop one of them. Probably Utah.

Play them, why not. If you win it would be a great.

Re: 2011? Keep the OOC schedule or drop it?

This isn't MBB where you have to depend on your strength of schedule to get you into the tournament. Get 6 wins anyway you can, so you can get to a bowl game. Playing 5 upper level division 1 teams isn't going to do that, especially when you have a choice on whether or not you can play 2 of them.

Nobody even knows how good those teams will be by then. They are good now, but that doesn't mean squat next season. I say play them. A lot can change in 1 year and I don't think scheduling teams should change just because of that fact.

I'd keep the UCONN game, second guess the UTAH game. UCONN would be fun like the Army game was a few years ago, being close to NYC is always nice.

Exactly. Plus, it's not going to look the best when a Big 12 team drops Utah and Connecticut from its schedule...

play them both. what kind of message does that say to the players and coaches? "gotta get rid of these teams cause we can't win them" --get real. play the games people

Re: 2011? Keep the OOC schedule or drop it?

Also people are forgetting we will not be sending the 2008 cyclones squad out to play those gamess. Does anyone against this have the slightest belief that ISU will be a much improved squad by then?

Hell, Austen Arnaud will be graduated and gone by the time this comes around. Thats how far removed we are from those games......

Its not like its Florida and Ohio State.... Play the damn games!

Re: 2011? Keep the OOC schedule or drop it?

Jamie addressed the schedule the other day..... it WON'T change. We will play the schedule the way it is scheduled. Chances are extremely thin that it will change. We scheduled those teams when they were weak and in a couple of years they could be weak again and anyone you schedule now who is weak could be strong by then.

Sooner or later, our fans need to stop being pu$$ies and stop being constantly scared of tough schedules. We should adopt the Pat Hill motto and be willing to play "anybody, anywhere at anytime."
