    How Big is Brackins?

I was looking at scout and rivals again today (One of those fridays at work) and Scout has him listed at 6-8 200, and Rivals has him at 6-10 220. How big is he? More in the 6-9 210 range? heh.

    Re: How Big is Brackins?

While looking around I found a good rivals article about him:

    . Craig Brackins, Lancaster (Calif.) Brewster Academy document.write(insertImage('/IMAGES/PROSPECT/PHOTO/CRAIGBRACKINS11_14100.JPG', '', 0, 120, 100, 1, '', 'Rivals.com', 1144068953000, '', 1014, 'Align=Right'));Position: Power forward
    Height: 6-foot-9
    College choice: Undecided
Cactus Classic stats (7 games): 10.5 pts, 4.5 reb, 1.3 blk
Speaking of potential NBA players, Craig Brackins needs to be in the discussion.
With his long arms and high shoulders at a good 6-foot-9, Brackins scored in the post with nifty foot work and both left handed and right handed jump hooks. He also has a nice shooting touch out to the three-point line and handles the ball and passes it with poise. On the defensive end, Brackins was one of the top shot blockers at the event and proved to be very difficult to score over. One of his better defensive plays of the weekend was when he missed a three-pointer from the corner and then sprinted to the other end and other side of the court to block a shot in transition. Not afraid of contact and willing to mix it up inside, Brackins does get pushed around at times and needs to get stronger and learn to play with a lower center of gravity. But the fact is that as good as Brackins is now, his best ball lies ahead of him.

    Re: How Big is Brackins?

    Awesome:

I love the comments here...exactly what we need!

"Scored in the post with both R & L hands"
    "Passes the ball with poise"
"One of the top shot blockers at the event"
    "Very diffucult to score over"
"Missed a 3 pointer, sprinted to other end to block a shot"
"Not afraid of contact, willing to mix it up inside"
"Best ball lies ahead of him"

What more could you want in an incoming recruit! The only fallback is strength, which is easily remedied.

    Can't Wait!

    Re: How Big is Brackins?

Here's 2 pictures I found of him. Not sure how old they are but the kid looks like he has a nice frame to fill out and already a little beef on it. If there are multiple scouting sources reporting that he has NBA potential and has impressed with his scoring ability then I don't think we have much to worry about considering how weak we already are in the paint.

    Re: How Big is Brackins?

Does Brackins remind anyone of a taller Eric Coleman-like player? Haven't seen him play but all that's written about him makes me think he could be that type of player. Just a thought.

That's what I was thinking! He looks just like him... let's hope he can play like Coleman!

From what i have heard he is a different type of player. He drained 6 3's in the first half of a game earlier this year. Nothing against Coleman, he is a good player, but IMO he is more of a Greg Brunner inside power player and no where near an elite top 10 in the nation talent like Mr. Brackins. I think Brackins will be more inside outside like a Fizer/Nowitzki/Rasheed type of player.
