    Coach Shep

    Coach Shep-

Is he in or out? Does PR have a short list for this spot?

Depends if gene hires him away. I would offer him a pay raise and make Auburn have to pay more.

    Re: Coach Shep

Somebody had mentioned that there is a job opening at ISU for Strength and Conditioning coach and assistant S&C coach. Leads me to believe that he has resigned or will not be retained. This was listed before we named our head coach...

That's why I ask. I saw the job board, but PR said he'd meet with all the coaches before he'd make a decision. I heard Chizik was retaining the previous strength staff at Auburn. Kinda weird.

    Re: Coach Shep

Maybe Sheppard just doesn't want to work with Coach Rhoads because they've had some run-ins in the past?

    Re: Coach Shep

All these jobs might have been posted asap because I believe that as a position with the state the job legally has to be posted for 2 weeks before a hire can be made unless the hire is in-house.

So they might be just posted so they can make hires asap if they don't retain the current coach.

    Re: Coach Shep

I think all the coaches have to reapply with a new head coach?

    Re: Coach Shep

Currently on the ISU jobs website...

HEAD STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH for FOOTBALL
ASSISTANT STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH for FOOTBALL
    DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS
ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH---Offensive and Defensive Coordinators
ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACH (does not specify position)

But it also still lists HEAD FOOTBALL COACH...so it may not be completely up to date or accurate.

It was posted on another thread that Chiz was keeping the Auburn SC coach. I think his last name is Knox??

That covers all of the positions on the football team so it looks like jtdoyle was right. This is just a formality and doesn't tell us anything about Shep's status.

He was still listed on Cyclones.com.

Heard PR was supposed to meet with Shep and Becton. Anybody have an update for us?

    Re: Coach Shep

Pollard said it was normal practice to post all jobs after a coaching change to shorten the process if current coaches are not retained.
