    Old, or New?

I was thinking with the hire of Chizik and the program of ISU, what would be easier? So now you ask yourself, "well what would be easier?".

Well Dan McCarney was here for 12 years, and towards the end, the recruiting class started going down hill. He had only 5 or 6 commits towards the middle of the season, and none were really highly scouted players.

And now Chizik comes in to a falling program that needs a makeover like Richard Simmons does for us over eating Americans that we have all become. So what would be easier? Would it be easier to have the resume, the name, and the new love ambition to help bring in the bigger recruits, or; have the tradition, the players, and the team with success.

Myself thinks the new coach, with no tradition at the school, with no success will out do himself down the line. This is why. If you were to take Florida, or Michigan, you are going to get the players no matter what because of the tradition that is already built with that school. LLyod Carr had a 7-5 disappointing season last year, but was still able to bring in the players. This unfortunately doesn't work at ISU. You have to win, and show that the program is going up and not down to bring the players that will make a splash in the media.

This is why I believe all of us and JP thought it was time for a new guy. Dan had the tradition, and even some success. But as of lately, the team was falling and so was the talent. Now with Chizik at the helm, he can bring his resume, his name, and his passion to hopefully pull in some great talent fast. And I assure you, if he doesn't win, even with his outstanding history, he will not be successful with the recruits.

    What do you think?

Let me try my best ISUFan22 inpersonation...

    *ahem, ahem*

Can't we let this go? We have a new coach, why rehash the old one?

    *ahem, ahem*

    What did you think?

(I'm just kidding around by the way)

You're point is a good one.

    Re: Old, or New?

i actually think this is a logical argument. mac was really lousy at recruiting, especially lately. chizik already has inroads to both texas and florida. he doesn't have inroads at iowa yet, but become the best program in the state (with iowa fading the way they are) and those inroads will come as well

hey cycloneworld-i think you need to throw in a 'did YOU read what his post said? well I did and I am just trying to figure out if there is any merit to it or not. I know everything about everything and you are dumber than a bag of hammers.'
that would have been a closer imitation.
