    nfl network

can anyone else explain why the nfl now plays games on a channel that is probably viewed by only 25% of america? this had better become a part of my basic cable package next year if they intend to have around 10 games on a year. RABBLE!

    Re: nfl network

They plan on making a network like ESPN in season - they could draw more cable money and be in a new time slot.

Yeah, this sucks. Here's a link to NFL.com that lets you send a letter to your cable provider letting them know you want the NFL Network

or you can just get DirectTV and watch it during the weekdays when there is nothing else on TV. Also dont have to worry about losing fox. Plus Sunday ticket is the best thing since sliced bread

Bryant Gumble just called Frank Gore "Al Gore" on accident. What an idiot!!!

    Re: nfl network

Bryant Gumble is the worst play-by-play announcer. I had to turn him off during the Chiefs game on Thanksgiving night and haven't made the effort to listen to him since. I'm glad my cable company doesn't have the NFL network.

Wasn't it last week that he said something about them getting close to the 3 minute warning?

    Re: nfl network

Yeah Bryant Gumble is aweful. I think his brother has disowned him by now. If you have DirectTV or Dish Network you'd have NFL Network. I used to be one of those that thought buying a dish was not worth it but after being screwed over by Mediacom enough times I switched and no way are you ever going to get me to go back to cable!

    Re: nfl network

the whole point of this is to promote the 'new' channel and for the NFL channel to receive more $$

this way, when you write a letter and the cable company adds it, everyone subscribing to that 'level' of cable/sat service pays for it.... and *GASP, the NFL network then gets a piece of that subscription .... and then *GASP, the can ask for more advertising dollars from companies because they reach more households than before....

Basically it is a down hill roll for them. Little effort upfront for a huge windfall at the end of the hill.....

Too bad my apartment has a northern exposure - the only option I have is Mediascum

    Re: nfl network

Yeah, everytime I listen to Bryant Gumble I keep waiting for him to clear his throat and talk like a normal person. Then I start thinking about Gumble to Gumble on Family Guy and it's all downhill from there...

    Re: nfl network

I agree with all you who complained about Bryant Gumble....by far the worst play by play caller there has ever been. He is monotone, he doesn't know what he is talking about, and they didn't help him at all by giving him Collingsworth as a partner.

Gumble has got to go. His monatone voice is brutal...The same pitch the whole game. Does he even know anything about football?
