    Re: 66" Vertical

That is some serious ups; however, you measure vertical jump from the standing position.

That said, his vertical is probably still well over 40", which is still freakish.

Don't you measure it by how high you can touch something?

Pretty much. Whether you bring your knees to your chest when you jump or not technically does not change your vertical jump.

Yes, It is measured by taking the measure of your reach standing flat footed, and then from a standing position jumping up to a point. You subtract your reach from the point you reached to get the vertical jump.

    Re: 66" Vertical

that is simply a 66" box jump... a vertical jump is when you reach your hand out as high as you can, then jump and touch as high as you can and measue the difference.

Randy moss had over a 50" and so did michael jordan

    Re: 66" Vertical

There's no way Michael Jordan had a vertical over 50".

David Thompson only had a 46 inch. I have never heard of anyone over 50 inch. Please link. Signed, Doubting Thomas.

Is vertical might be 40, but well over. Come on get real. If you have a 40 in. vertical you are a freak. Only a few people can say they have 40 and a couple can say they have "well over" 40.

I would be surprised if Moss'e true, standing vertical was even 40. And if Mikes was 50, he would have been dunking from the 3 point line, not the free throw line.

    Re: 66" Vertical

I think Jordan's was at least 44", maybe 48". Spud Webb had like a 40" verticle at 5'7".

EDIT: Don't know how accurate this is, but it had Jordan's jump at 48" like I remembered it, although it has Webb at 46". He was crazy for his height.:
