Chizik, a man of integrity with recruits???? Marry Update on CN...

Well, Chizik knows the cards are stacked against him at Auburn - he has to win and win now.

So, as if he hasnt screwed ISU enough already, now he's calling our recruits. Many of us here have wanted the LB Mike Marry - well it seems that inbred of a former coach is calling Mike and telling him he still wants him but now at Auburn. Absolutely no ethics.....I think coaches should implement a non-compete clause in the contract. Its okay to go to another school, but, you cannot contact those recruits you've been developing a recruiting relationship while on ISU's dime and now simply pull them to Auburn. Each day that goes by, i become more and more of an Auburn hater - which is something i didnt want as a result of this, but that INBRED is making it more and more difficult to respect his decision to go to another school.....

    Scout.com: LB Mike Marry update

What stands out about Iowa State?

"I just liked the coaches and environment when I visited. I liked everything about it. I really liked Coaches Chizik and Cullan. Coach Chizik called me after he took the Auburn job. He said he still wants me."

It would be hard to implement that rule and it would make changing jobs a lot harder.

This is exactly why we need a coach as soon as possible. To retain and possible seal the deal on the relationships of those recruits we've worked so hard to get.

Now INBRED will simply pluck whichever recruits he thinks fits his need at Auburn and call them and recruit against the very school thats paid him about 2 million dollars over the past two years. Don't give me that about the 750 K buyout, we all know auburn flipped that bill too!!!!

It should come as no suprise that a coach is going to contact the kids he was recruiting at his new school. It's nothing new, we just don't like it We just need to get someone in here who can call and recruit against him.

Not sure why that would be so difficult. The majority of the recruiting information is easily traceable through phone records etc. The only thing were talking about is a coach not being able to recruit the players that they've been recruiting while at another school.

Not difficult at all. Would have little change on him changing positions. It would only affect the information he had attained while being paid by ISU.

Several similar cases to this in the professional world - its not that difficult!!!

I agree. I don't see anything wrong with this, since as I understand it they haven't yet signed with ISU.

Will you call our new coach out when he contacts the recruits he is currently after upon arrival at ISU???

Its a reality that this happens. I don't think this kid has committed to anyone yet so I'd say he is still fair game.
Like someone said earlier, its more important that we get someone right now that can keep these guys interested in ISU.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Count me in this camp also. Nothing wrong with this. Players don't sign because they like a school best, they sign with the coaching staff they like best.

Wouldn't this rule have prevented several bball players, including Wesley, from coming here?

Coaches evaluate and talk to a ton of kids each recruiting period. If you eliminate every prospect a coach has talked to in a previous position he will be very limited on who he can talk to.

Could a coach then not talk to a high school coach if they have a player on their team that he recruited at one school?

What if a player calls a coach? Can he then not call them back?

Do you suggest that the NCAA keep phone records on every coach in the NCAA in a database and then cross reference their calls while at one school with their calls at a new school to see if any match?

What if a player gets a new phone number? Goes to a Junior College, wants to transfer?

As we've seen with our former coach you can't rely on them being ethical and telling you who they have contacted
