Will Bradley be a tough game?

Bradley was a pretty tought team last year in the tourney, but what are they bringing back? Weren't they mostly seniors? I will be at the game and cant wait to see ISU play for the first time this year. I went to the Ohio State game last year in Des Moines and even with a frustrating loss to a team we were beating it was fun. I just hope we play Bradley tough and come out with a win. Anyone else on here going? Any info on Bradleys talent this year?

A 6-3 MVC team with close losses to Illinois and Tennessee Tech then blown out by Michigan State. They played these games all in a row with the last 2 being on the road.

I'm expecting a tough battle for us.

Re: Will Bradley be a tough game?

    Bradley RPI: 117
    ISU: 191

Not that RPI means anything, but, Bradley is playing tough opponents and is 6-3.

    Just like ISUFan22 stated.

So, yeah, not impossible, but it will be a battle.

It would be a good win if we can get it.

They do have some shooters -- if there are on from the arc and if Taylor realigns his shot -- it could be a fun game!

Re: Will Bradley be a tough game?

Their RPI is 115, it's going to be a tough win. They played Illinois tough just like 22 said. We can't come out soft as a wet noodle like we did against Iowa and Drake or we're going to get pounded. IMO, (I saw a little bit of them this year) they are better than Drake.

Re: Will Bradley be a tough game?

Of course it'll be a tough game, we aren't very good. We aren't going to win any games easily.

On Bradley, they are 6-3 having lost to Illinois, Michigan State and at Tennessee Tech (by 2). They beat Rutgers and DePaul, but not anyone really good.

Their best player last year was a sophmore 7-foot center Patrick O'Bryant, who went pro. I think they lost some seniors as well.

They are lead this year by 6-5 junior guard Jeremy Crouch who is shooting 63% from 3 point range, hasn't missed more threes than he's made in any game and has at least 3 three pointers in all their games except one. Guarding the perimeter will be very important. They shoot a whole lot of threes as a team too, averaging 12 for 24 per game on the season.

Re: Will Bradley be a tough game?

    Bradley's schedule:

    DePaul W 78-58
    SIU Edwardsville W 74-58
    Illinois-Chicago W 81-72
    Florida A&M W 107-75
    Rutgers W 101-72
    Illinois L 75-71
    at Tenn Tech L 86-84
    at Mich State L 82-53
    Wright State W 88-49

They have 4 players averaging over 12 points per game.
They shoot 49% from 3 point land and 48% field goals.
They have 8 players that average more than 18 minutes per game.

One thing is for certain...they like to score points!

Also, they have only played 2 road games...that may be to our advantage.

So they beat the same DePaul that Kansas lost to. Interesting. Im sure the rest of the games from here on out will be tough. Thanks for the info!

Re: Will Bradley be a tough game?

Right now any game will be tough for us until we start playing consistently. We let a crappy Savannah State team hang in the game for all but the last 5 minutes or so last night.

This isn't a knock on our team, let's face it we play in streaks sometimes and there will be games we look good and others we will look like we have no clue what we are doing. It's part of rebuilding pains but I think if we stick to the big picture plans the next season or 2 will look very bright.

Re: Will Bradley be a tough game?

If you're interested in comparing opponents, Illinois thrashed Savannah State to the tune of something like 80-34...

It's going to be an uphill battle from here on out for this team. Seeing how they play in non-conference games indicates a rough, rough Big 12 slate ahead.

This is a Good Match Up for ISU

Bradley will definitely be a tough game. Ruffin is a quality PG and won't turn the ball over.

I like ISU's chances because BU doesn't have a lot of size. They basically go with a 4 guard offense and their post guy has good hops, but not much of a post game.

It will be interesting to see how many minutes Jiri gets. I could see a lineup of McIntosh, Dunson, Taylor, W. Johnson & Clark playing together a ton.

IMO this game comes down to which team makes more 3's and shoots more free throws. It could also be a contrast of styles; BU will definitely like to make it an uptempo game and G-Mac may want to slow it down.

bas. we need to play our best defense, this team is in the top 25 in scoring, and is very quick if i am not mistaking

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: Will Bradley be a tough game?

Have you seen us play? Every game will be tough for us to win. I will be surprised if we win. If we win 10 games this year, McD should be coach of the year.

ok that was a lil uncalled for..i am pretty sure we can win 10 games without alot of trouble, yes its going to be a tough year, but i think we can get at least 13wins
