    Re: Maybe Brent Venables?

Love it, most people dont, because he is just like Chizik... but IMO, this guy is far more passionate

    Re: Maybe Brent Venables?

My fear with Venebals is, being one of the many K-State JUCOs himself, would he want to go JUCO heavy much like they did in the 90's?

    Re: Maybe Brent Venables?

I wouldn't mind either Venables or Kevin Wilson the OU offensive coordinator, but hopefully Pollard is smart enough not to go after Mason or Barnett.

    Re: Maybe Brent Venables?

My top 2 in all honesty

Charlie Strong, we need an African American coach
    and
    Brent Venables, Passionate.

Neither have HC experience, but could EASILY, i mean EASILY pick up where Chizik left off. and i think Jamie is REALLY looking into that. Its pretty important IMO

    Re: Maybe Brent Venables?

    Quotes from the article link:

I have also been told that Pollard is high on a pair of coaches currently off the sideline — former Minnesota (and Kansas) coach Glen Mason, and former Colorado coach Gary Barnett. Those names were mentioned frequently.
I really don't want to see these guys, especially the latter.

On a whim, I checked in with the coach whose name gets mentioned more than any other — Chris Petersen at Boise State. It was a long shot to say the least. He is definitely out. My guy in Boise telling me that Petersen had turned down several big-time offers in the last few weeks (including one at $3 million a season) in order to stay in Boise. He has an undefeated squad this year, and thinks he’ll have a shot at a National Title next season. And it won’t be in Ames.
I kept saying this earlier. He would be great, but he really likes Boise I think.

I am sure Venables is a good OC, but I am still not sold on him as a head coach.

He is DC, and IMO he is better than Chizik.

LOOK what he did to TTU

Hate this...hate it. We don't need that.

We need a coach that will win. And the dude can have pink skin and wear a purple tutu for all I care.

If it ends up being Strong, I'll like it. But not because of his color.
