Muscle mass doesn't always equal better athletic performance.

Fulmer has a great S&C coach. My cousin knows him personally (currently out of work like Fulmer). We will be fine if Shep leaves.

I agree... possibly explains why we seemed like we were a step behind on a ton of plays. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

    Re: Sheppard

I know a little about s&c, enough to be dangerous. From all indications, Shep was (is) old school and worked the tar out of kids with intensity the main goal of a workout.
Getty was (is) very much a technician and sometimes the intensity is sacrificed for the benefit of doing things correctly.

Why does Pat Hill's age concern you but not Fulmer's?

No...it's because our defensive players are ACTUALLY a step behind!!

Because I think Fulmer has the clout to have an "in waiting" to take over the program and he has wayyyyy more appeal nationally from a recruiting standpoint.

Trust me, I'm not thrilled he is 58, but would be a much better option than Hill IMO.

I still think Gill was/is the best option, but I guess we've moved on from that.

    Re: Sheppard

Shep came from the Texas program. I would not say Texas players suffer from too much muscle mass and lack athletic performance.

You could have brought Chuck Norris in with his Total Gyms at Texas and still would have won a National Championship. Sometimes talent overcomes even a substandard S&C program. What disappointed me in Chizik he brought in Sheppard...just because. Little did he know his best candidate was the one he showed the door to. If he (Chizik) gets rid of Yoxall (Auburn's S&C)-who is also very good- then he really does not know what the hell he is doing.

You could have stopped here. Chuck Norris would have won it by himself.
