Apology to Tiller family and ISU fans

I want to take a moment to apologize to the Tiller family as well as Cyclone fans. Yesterday I received information that confirmed the rumors that were broadcast on the local radio yesterday. At the time, the information looked very solid and I’ve never posted a rumor without having information to back it up.

However, it appears my source led me astray and I’m rather disappointed about that. In the past, anytime the source came to me with information, it was always valid. This time, the information is in fact partially valid, but looks to be embellished quite a bit.

However, I shared the information and I’ll apologize for such. Again, I’m sorry to the Tiller family and Cyclone fans.

Hopefully this will be over soon, the new coach will be able to swiftly meet the players, they’ll accept him as their new devoted leader and remain Cyclones.

Stand up thing to do, however, for your spreading of unfounded rumors, I think you should be docked 1 million credits.

Which is why I debated on posting it in the first place - but I felt an apology was warranted, even though I was duped here.

Basically, his dad is upset, sent an e-mail to KXNO. E-mail content expressed displeasure with Gene leaving and the NCAA allowing this stuff to happen.

E-mail was embellished into much more.

Done, over with. From what his dad has been saying elsewhere, Tiller is a Cyclone and won't be doing anything until the new coach is announced (as almost every Cyclone player).

Lesson learned: Don't post rumors as facts. There is no benefit to anyone.

Props to 22 for owning up to it.

Thanks, 22!! You're a good man, and I think I can say (since I know you personally), I know of few people who want success for ISU athletics more than you.

Re: Apology to Tiller family and ISU fans

I missed the post yesterday but in a forum such as message boards where no one has to own up to anything it takes even more of an individual to say they were wrong.

Happens to the best of them, journalist report things based on reliable sources all the time and their retractions are posted on page 12.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.
