    Another one for the gamers

Has anyone played Shadow of the Collosus on PS2? I just recently picked this one up and want to start playing it before the bball game tonight. I've read incredible things about this game and I'm pumped to play it!

That got me thinking...does anyone have the Wii yet? I want one but want to know if it's worth the money.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Fun to play, graphics suck though. Played Madden on it and it was tough to get the hang of. Doesn't help that my friend who owns the Wii I was playing doesn't like playing those types of games because "the plays are too confusing." He hasn't liked a football videogame since Super Tecmobowl.

Some of the Wii Sports games are fun though, especially bowling and baseball.

The Wii is great. There are a few really good games right now, but the best are yet to come. Look for some great titles from developers who master the new control scheme. My wife loves the heck out of it and she is not a big gamer. Its a fun system to get the whole family involved with.

We went over to a friend's house and played Wii last weekend. I had Wii elbow the next day from getting too into tennis.

OK, this is the nintendo fanboy inside of me talking but here it goes...

I have one and it is a blast to play.

for $250 bucks, its totally worth the money.

I for one am glad they changed up the controls and implemented them on a game like Madden, I play with a group of guys who are hardcore madden-addicts, and they always beat me easily. With the new control, it evens up our skills and makes up for my inability to push 80 buttons at one time to throw and catch a pass for a TD . so i think it makes game like that more intuitive and accessable

And as far as breaking things with the Wii, if you use common sense, give yourself some room and actually hold onto the controller instead of throwing it like an actual baseball, nothing will get broken.

I think the whole wii controller breaking things is actually a conspiracy from Sony, and they are planting pictures on the Internet to scare people, but then again I am a Nintendo fan-boy

As far as SOC, i hear its a really good game. I am really into zelda right now, but I have wanted to play this for sometime now.

Re: Another one for the gamers

I have to say I see Sony winning this generation yet again. They have a lot of great game franchises and a very strong brand with Playstation. However, I don't think they will be as dominant as they were with PS1 and PS2.

I plan on picking up a PS3, but not until the price drops. The Wii is a great buy today, I would do it without hesitation. There are several good titles available already, and Zelda is supposed to be fantastic. Being able to download older games is pretty cool, and Nintendo always makes great games that you can't play anywhere else. If you are a gamer, for $250 the Wii is a pretty safe bet.

By the way BigD, how did you manage to get you hands on a Wii already? I haven't had any luck finding them so far.

    Well, that's a good story.

So, as I am counting down the final seconds during the mizzou game in the stands, I get a phone call from my fiance, says she is going to go to the local wallmart store in our hometown to go shopping. As the crowd was getting loud because of the goalline stand, I didn't hear much more.

As I am running around on the field celebrating the win with the team after the game, I get another call and she says she is at wallmart and will be 6th in line for the Wii if she got in line. I didn't even know she knew they were going on sale that night at midnight. I was so proud of her.

So she decided to get inline and wait from about 6:00 pm until midnight. I drove home after the game and joined her around 8:30. Picked it up around 12:10 am after the first 5 people got theirs. I have never done a system launch before, so it was a interesting experience. Fortunately, they let us stay inside for the wait and we didnt have to be out in the cold.

So thanks to the efforts of my woman, we got the Wii (chuckle)

    I love her!!!

God of War is awesome. I dont have any of the new generation systems but I'm sure I'll end up with all of them, eventually. I think my X-Box, PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast are getting lonely...god I'm a nerd.

Ok, I'm not seeing any 360 talk going so that must end. Gears of War is bada$$ and so far the 360 graphics are blowing the PS3 out of the water.
I'm with others, I'll wait for the PS3 to come down in price, and it will take a miracle for me to pick up the Wii (i just don't see the appeal of this one).
