    New found respect for Pollard

    After reading this article:

Pollard: Chizik told me twice he wasn't taking Auburn job | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register

I'm not sure how any ISU fan cannot love and respect JP...

Although he can be a polarizing individual, he's a Clone through and through. Go Pollard!!!

Re: New found respect for Pollard

He tells us what we want to hear. Plain and simple. I will agree that with the Chizik hiring we will able to increase coaches' salaries, that's the norm in almost every coaching regime that has turnover. Increasing the budget from ticket sales, etc. due to the Chizik buzz was good as well. But he screwed up and now his back is against the wall....he has to make a hire that is going to define his tenure here. However...if I see the guy cry one more time...geez. He's like the Dick Vermeil of ADs.

The article does not do the press conference justice. If you get a chance go to cyclones.com and watch it for free: http://www.cyclones.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10700&ATCLID=3633554

    JP brought the emotion.

If anyone's respect for Pollard is "new found", I don't know where the hell you have been for the last few years.

Re: New found respect for Pollard

Just be happy we have Pollard and not Jacobs - that AD just hired a coach coming off a 10 game losing streak and without one single road win to his name (as a HC). This at a school just a few years removed from an undefeated season in the SEC.

Yea, except...the VB team didn't play in Minneapolis this weekend...I know its nitpicking from what the article is about...I just really wish the Rag could get facts straight....I mean...even this piece of information doesn't take much to figure out they were in Texas and I believe he was at the BBall game...

Re: New found respect for Pollard

I'm sure this was a rush job, but very poor summary by the Register. Left out a lot of key comments.

Hopefully they follow-up with a more comprehensive article... but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Re: New found respect for Pollard

Shouldn't this be put under the official Pollard thread?

Being out of town, I was not aware of his child's current condition. For that I apologize for the Vermeil comment.
