OFFICIAL Why do you combine threads? Thread official

Honestly you make it more difficult to keep up when you combine so many threads. Why are you so concerned over managing these things?

Re: OFFICIAL Why do you combine threads? Thread official

I agree...somebody merged a great article by Paul Clark the other day and it took me 10 minutes to find it in the middle of 100 pages of 1 thread.

I say as long as the thread is not just some random opinion but actauly carries a different angle or media source it deserves its own thread. Stop making us search through 100 pages on 1 thread. Please.

Just a fact, the people who want multiple treads are out numbered by those who what single threads on a similiar topic.

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

Re: OFFICIAL Why do you combine threads? Thread official

Here's the thing: There are people who feel that having 1000 threads saying the same things is difficult, too.

It is just about impossible to moderate all of those threads. We made a decision to have daily threads about the most common topics that were being discussed ad nauseum.

Sorry, but you can't please everyone.

Re: OFFICIAL Why do you combine threads? Thread official

One beauty of the site is the "go to last read post" button. Or however it's labeled.

So one large thread is very easy to follow, because it takes you to the newest post since your last viewing of that thread.

The alternative is trying to follow 20+ different threads with the same topic. And then when new information is released, it goes in one of those threads, and you have to read all of them to know what's going on.

    Good luck...

Re: OFFICIAL Why do you combine threads? Thread official

Thank goodness they are merging the threads together, otherwise you have 10 new threads with somebody trying to beat everyone else posting something that has been talked about for the last hour in another thread.

Prime example: all the new posts about Barkley's comments about Chizdick going to Auburn.

Until you can show me any data to support this then it is just your OPINION.

Plus how many threads actually stay on topic and are true to the original thread starter. It really does everyone a dis-service when threads are combined under the assumption that they are the same.
Just because they have simular subject matter does not make the content the same - Not enough to throw it all together anyway.
You just make things confusing and now you have one big disconnected hard to follow banter thread with no flow or continuety.
