I am proud to be a Cyclone

I have been so proud of the players on our FB team this year. I know they worked hard and didn't always get the outcomes they strived for. And everything JP is saying about them right now confirms my thoughts. They are good young men and I am proud that they are a part of my Cyclone family. I see a bright future and no one can damper my outlook. Thank you Football Team and thank you Jam ie Pollard. Come on, fans, keep the faith.

These are the types of threads we need! Watch the press conference. See the emotion. Stay behind JP, the football team, all of our coaches, and all of our student athletes!

Something struck me while watching. We have a couple of different kinds of people on the board.

One is like JP, the other is like Chiz.

The ones like JP realize that while the situation sucks, it is what it is and we charge ahead.

The ones like Chiz whine, cry, *****, and quit.

    Which one are you?

Re: I am proud to be a Cyclone

Right. Gene turned out to be a sissy-baby-cry-whiner that left when the going got tough. How many coaches get extension after getting just 5 wins in two years - against horrible teams? Not many at all. Most get the exact opposite.

Jamie is Iowa State right now. I'm certain he'd rather not be the face of ISU - but have the staff be the face. He felt Gene could be that guy and clearly - Gene couldn't. Bye-bye, good luck sucking on your thumb in Auburn.

I loved what Jamie had to say today. The search would be kept tight-lipped. He'd find the best possible guy. It's time to deliver to the fans.

That press conference should be linked to every ISU homepage for the next three months.

Re: I am proud to be a Cyclone

I guess I'm not nearly as upset as most people on this board. I feel proud that Jamie is such a stand up guy, and hopefully proud that our players will stick with us through the changes. Can't say I'm all that proud about the reaction by most people on the boards over the past few days.

Re: I am proud to be a Cyclone

Honestly to me, I'm so glad I made this decision a little over 3 years ago. It's amazing to look back at my past 3 years at ISU and see what we've all been through. All the highs (although few and far between), all the lows, the anger and the pain. All of these things just add to the character of this proud nation of fans. Sure we're not the best school, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find a school with so many devotes, with the hope and dreams of what is to come here, not only in football, but in every sport. I wish JP the best, and as always, I'm proud to be a Cyclone!

If people were not very upset, I'd be worried for the state of our program. It's good people were ****** off. You can sit there on your "I'm happy" perch if ya want - but this has been a very tough last few days for everyone.

Re: I am proud to be a Cyclone

We're working through the seven stages of grief quite quickly...

    1) Shock and denial came Friday afternoon and evening.

    2) Pain and guilt was a quick stage because it didn't take long to get to...

    3) ...Anger and bargaining. That was a somewhat lengthy stage beginning somewhere around Friday evening and lasting at least through yesterday--and some of us are still in it.

    4) I think many of us just experienced depression, reflection, and loneliness during Jamie's presser.

    5) The upward turn begins now. Many of us believe Jamie will go out and find us a good coach.

    6) Once we have that coach, we'll begin Reconstruction and working through.

    7) By spring practice, we'll have acceptance and hope--accepting the situation and moving on with hope for a great upcoming season!

I agree with this, and I am not saying I am not ****** off, or that people shouldn't be.

There is however a difference between being ****** off and going completely off the deep end. Wishing physical harm to someone along with some of the other asinine **** I have read on here is not necessary, and honestly embarrassing.

Re: I am proud to be a Cyclone

Never said I was happy, but I'm not childish enough to wish that he loses all his games or gets hurt in some way, what good does that do our program? Time to look to the future my friends, not wish bad things about an ex-member of our team.
