    Parker to true position?

With Tyrone McKenzie leaving and GC sure to bring in some rush ends, does anyone thing we can put Rashone Parker at MLB. With his size and speed it seems to me like a better position for him. At 235, he just is not big enough for rush end. I think he would be great at LB!

Not a bad idea... But do you think GC will bring in good enough ends to supplant Parker? Remember, we need to replace Moorehead. At least Braaksma will return.

I think it's better to have someone play great at his position then to play ok at one where we are weak

    Re: Parker to true position?

I like the idea, but by comparing the depth at each posistion, it would be better of to stay at Defensive end. At D-end ISU lost moorehead their only true pass rush, and Braaksma is coming back but hes more of a clog the hole and run defense type of player. Kurtis Taylor should be starting next year, so that occupies one starting spot.

At linebacker Carper and Garrin are both coming back along with Means, so there is more depth there.

Jesse Smith played a lot as well. He's the one guy who at most looked the part out there.

    Re: Parker to true position?

Who knows how quick Parker really is, or how good he is playing in space. Taylor hopefully can fill in at rush end while Braaksma can play strongside. Rubin seems to fit the part of a good NG and hopefully Nate Frere can get some strength to go along with his size and we will be OK. A JC is needed in there somewhere though. Its hard to judge how good true frosh like Parker, Frere, and Williams really are because in a healthy program, none would have seen the field that early.
