    Bears bashers...

So are you Bears bashers satisfied that the Bears are a very good team after last night's win or was it another "lucky" win against a crappy team?? I mean Chicago was missing about 4 key defensive starters and still destroyed a solid (but not great) St. Louis team. Grossman was adequate which is all they need from him and the special teams continued to be unbelievable (except for the kicker, Gould).

St Louis is far from solid... but no doubt the bears are a Great team when grossman is good... I'm sure they'll go far in the playoffs!

You're right, St. Louis is not that solid but I was speaking in regards to the rest of the league...I would put them somewhere in the middle of the pack, not at the bottom. They still have a pretty good offense, that's for sure.

Hester....Hester....Hester... boy I miss that chant. We should get a Cyclone/Bear fan bus to go to a Bears game and just chant that the whole time. Anybody know where the original Hester (Greg style) is or what he's doing?

I hear he's helping Loren Meyer mix up Jaeger bombs up in Northwest Iowa. He also mixes up a nasty bullfrog.

Last I heard they'd both head over to Council Bluffs a couple times a year to meet up halfway to Harlan with their DD Julo Michalik and bag on Troy Skinner and Russ Millard.

    Re: Bears bashers...

The rams defense is not that good, and without Hester's 2 returns, the score would of been 28-27 (28-28 if the Rams did not miss that first PAT). I am not sure what to think of the bears yet, they are too up and down on offense, especially Grossman. He had some good stats last night, and towrds the beginning of the season. But from October 16 until last night he was pretty horrid. They will more then likley lock homfield advanatage, and that could prove to be very benificial with teams like Dallas, Seattle, or New Orleans coming into Chicago in mid January.

    Re: Bears bashers...

What about Gould's 2 missed fgs and the Wilkins miss at the end of the first half? If you want to play the woulda-shoulda-coulda game, the score would have been 34-31 Bears without the Hester returns. I'm not saying the Bears will win the Super Bowl, but looking around the league this year, there have been some teams that look really good some weeks and not so much other weeks. With the level of parity no one can know who will come out on top.

I wish people would stop bagging on the Bears for their "weak" schedule. The NFL sets up the schedule, it's not like they went out of their way to pick up 2 against the Packers, Vikings, and Lions. Some would have you believe they're taking scheduling advice from K-State.

    Re: Bears bashers...

You guys can't say the score would have been 28-27. After the bears went up 35-13 they sat back in a prevent defense the rest of the game. They let the rams throw short passes the whole second half to burn the clock down. The game was not close at all. You can try to make yourself feel better by saying it would have been close without the returns but this game was dominated by the bears. Their last four possesions were all TD's, the rams couldn't stop the bears rushing game.

Dont get me wrong, I am a fan of the Bears, but I am just not sure how far this team can go in the playoffs, and if they do make it to the Super Bowl, if they will be able to win that game. I would hardley say the Bears dominated this game, they had less first downs, less yards, and held the ball less then St Louis did. Without Hester's returns, this game would of been much closer.

    Re: Bears bashers...

Yeah, but the returns were part of the game and are part of what makes the Bears good. People can't just throw out kickoff/punt returns as being "lucky" when a team consistently gets good yardage out of them. So what if they didn't hold the ball longer than they did? They could have had more time of possession if they hadn't gotten 14 points off returns and just been forcing St. Louis to milk the clock at the end, I suppose...

I agree...the point I am trying to make is when the playoffs start, and the Bears have to play the best teams in the NFL, I dont think they are going to fare as well as they did last night. The one thing they will have going for them is homefield advantage more then likley up to the Super Bowl, if the make it that far. Homefield adavnatge over Dallas, Seattle, and New Orleans in in Chicago in mid January could be extremly benificial for the Bears. As it stands right now, I am not sold on this Bear team being a Super Bowl championship team.

    Re: Bears bashers...

I think the Bears are definitely one of the top teams in the NFC that is certain, HOWEVER, I am ****** at Gould because, if he would have made those two field goals, my fantasy football team would be playing for the championship next week instead of going down in flames last night.

Good game by the Bears last night...especially on offense.

Against the 31st ranked defense in the NFL.

Perhaps Grossman just needed to beat up on someone to get his confidence back. Time will tell.
