    Big Stretch

Only because I love conspiracy theories and this one would be unbelievable.

What if Phillip Bates goes to Auburn? GC was planning on leaving, told PB he was the better QB and he wanted to take him whereever he ended up, don't let the Cyclone fans get a look at what you have to give the team.

Come on it's possible right? Right?

If he thought he was the better quarterback, he would have played him. Plus, GC called him out as a quitter. I have a feeling Bates doesn't like Chizik at all.

Although, I have thought about this as well... and at this point, wouldn't doubt it!

    Re: Big Stretch

The conspiracy theory that I've pondered is about the coordinator situation. Why would Chizik demote his friends from coordinator to assistant, if he was looking for other jobs. The only thing I can come up with is that it shows he will take a stand to do "what is needed" and puts the blame on the coordinators for his record.

I'm wondering if he ever even seriously looked into hiring new coordinators. He kept making comments about being busy recruiting when he should of been finding replacements while there was still a good list to chose from.

The Chizik to AU thing came down real fast when AU realized that they couldn't get the top guys on their list to jump into the ring for a fistfight with Saban. Chizik was far down the AU list and this was not something being planned for weeks (or months). You guys are reading way too much into this.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I'm not talking about the AU thing. I'm talking in general- Chizik was out looking for new positions. He was dissatisfied at Iowa State, even though he lied to us, and he demoted his coordinators, so that he would look like a better candidate.

Yes the AU job came about quickly and I'm sure it is more then Xhizik hoped, but I don't believe for one minute that he was looking for another job. I think that is why so many fans are mad at him. If it was the matter of Auburn coming after Chizik, I think most of us will understand, but there is more to it then that. This whole thing just doesn't feel right and the man we thought was honorably has blood on his hands.

There is no indication from anyone who knows anything that Chizik was "out there looking". It seems to me that you just made that up.

If you think Chizik is the only coach that likes to keep his options open then you are crazy...nearly every coach will listen to anyone and will keep their feelers out there...it is the very nature of the profession.

I have some inside connections and though I've heard nothing directly, I have heard some troubling comments over the past month or two that have lead me to believe this. Like I said, I believe that Chizik was looking to move as soon as possible and was manipulating things to make himself look better for coaching positions.

I was wondering the same thing, especially if we were to hire a former Husker in Gill.
