Pollard Better Get in Front of This One

And right quick. This deal is not just about Chizik, it's about the whole athletic program. This has shaken my belief that anything I've been told is on the level. Call it a meltdown if it makes you feel better. I've got an image in my mind of the Titanic and Chizik is trying to sneak into a lifeboat with the women and children like the White Star Line exec did. Pollard said in the beginning that Chizik interviewing around on us would be "a good sign" for the state of the program. It would mean that our Cyclones would be very successful. Somehow I don't feel that way right now. Even if Chizik does not get the Auburn job, Pollard's got some 'splaining to do.

You mean him saying if Chizik leaves is because he has taken ISU to places it has never been before. Or the fact that Chizik wants to build ISU into a FB power. Or the fact that Chizik has said he loves Ames and doenst want to leave. Sounds like a BB coach that was once at ISU.

What do you suppose the new uniforms and colors are going to look like next year?

Calm down! Chiz will probably just get an extension on his contract.

    Polard Report Card

So based on his 2 biggest hires and most important since these are the two biggest revenue generating sports - if neither of these two work out do you let him hire again or do you let him go?

At this point in time I would have to say let him go - too bad I liked him but probably the most important part of his job he has failed at miserably.

    Re: Polard Report Card

He's done a great job raising money and selling hope but I'm afraid he's all out of hope to sell. The results on the field/court speak for themselves.

    Re: Polard Report Card

Can't spell the man's name that you want to fire correctly? Cool.

I'm about as livid as I have ever been with ISU athletics right now. But I don't see Pollard as the problem. He can't control the actions of Gene.
