    Pay Pal Account - Unverified

My wife used our Pay Pal account last night and the transaction would not go through. It appears they want our bank account info or we need to get a Pay Pal Credit card now to use this service. I do not want to do either of these. Anyone else experience this? Thoughts?

Re: Pay Pal Account - Unverified

I last used PayPal in September and just had my credit card charged. Is this not an option anymore?

They will deposit .02 and .03 to test the account to verify it. Its no big deal. An inconvenience yes. I think they are trying to secure funds better.

    Right.

You do not need a PayPal credit card. You can use your own bank account and/or credit card.

You can have it attached to a credit card, the verification usually is done by verifying the address you have matches the billing address of the card.

This did not fit either of those. Less than $15 and I've not used account in two weeks. (it worked fine then).

Since my original post I've called customer service and was informed that I have to A. Give them ny bank account info OR B. Apply for a Pay Pal Credit Card (min $14% APR) in order to bo business with them. Screw that. I'll finish my Xmas Shopping the old fashioned way. I'll go the the mall.

Re: Pay Pal Account - Unverified

I gave up on pay pal a couple of years ago. I was subscribed to a service with a monthly fee and canceled it. The company was still charging me even after 3-4 phone calls and emails to stop. Pay pal would do nothing about it. It cost me around $50 which is not much but enough to annoy the heck out of me.

My wife did ask to have this item shipped to an address different than ours. Could that have promted this?

A different address should not be a pay pal problem, only a seller problem. As a somewhat big ebay seller, we as sellers have a hassle changing to a different address than the buyers address, but pay pal doesn't know where you tell the seller to send the item. I haven't heard of any change in the pay pal rules lately, but we mainly only sell this time of year and only my wife buys, and she is hopefully DONE buying.

It also is owned by Ebay so it basically works as a monopoly. It is hard to get around Paypal on Ebay anymore. Paypal works great till a snag comes up, then they are a pain in the rear. Personally, I would avoid them.

Probably. Paypal is legit. They protect you up to $2000 on Ebay purchases. I paid for something on Ebay with Paypal and never got it. They refunded me my money.
