    USFL - Take Two

Yes folks, it's coming back. Not bigger and better than ever, which means that it may at least have a snowball's chance of making it. Plans are for opening kickoff in February 2010.

Seems to be much more grass roots oriented than original USFL and XFL. Quite possibly a longterm threat to the arena game.

illinois or iowa should have defintely gotten a team. absolutely terrible from a geography standpoint. there's barely any midwest teams.

I know there are a lot of "coaches" on this board so I thought I would throw this out there.
Do you have what it takes to be a USFL coach?
If you have experience as a college or professional football player

    Re: USFL - Take Two

I just got on the website and saw that. I kind of thought about applying for it. After all I have one year of coaching experience. I coached WR's and kickers at a high school this past year. Even called a few plays for JV. haha

    Re: USFL - Take Two

OMAHA, Neb. (AP)—The NCAA says it is fine with a United Football League team using Omaha’s new downtown stadium next year.
NCAA vice president of football and baseball Dennis Poppe said Friday that TD Ameritrade Park’s turf consultant assured him that football games in the fall wouldn’t adversely affect the grass for the College World Series each June.

The UFL two weeks ago announced its plans to come to Omaha. The team will play at Rosenblatt Stadium this fall while the downtown stadium is built.
The UFL’s lease requires it to pay for the installation and removal of sod over the infield during football season
