    This years past opponents

Mississippi Valley St. played Kentucky and lost by 23. Comparable to our victory of 18 and we played a terrible first half that game.

UC-Davis has 3 wins against no one of importance.

UW Milwaukee isn't as good as I though they were. They haven't beat anyone of importance yet either. They lost to Marquette by 20 and Wisconsin by 21.

Loyola Marymount has won a game this year.

Hawaii hasn't beat anyone notable (besides us) but does play at Illinios tonight.

UNI beat Auburn earlier this year but lost to Marquette badly. They also play Iowa Tuesday night.

OSU has only won 1 game against Fresno St. They play Nebraska this weekend.

So far, none of these teams are a great win for us. I think winning AT Iowa would be a great win only because it is a road game and rivalry. That would be a huge confidence boost.

Drake worries me but that wouldn't be a "great" win either.

Parts of this season will be good and parts will be really bad

I agree that we haven't come up with a signature win yet, but we're 7-1 and we can only play who's on our schedule, so I don't think it's as bad as you might be implying. I know one should never compare scores, but if the Univ of Wisconsin-Milwaukee loses at Marquette by 20, loses at Wisconsin by 21, and loses at Iowa State by 18, I'd say that puts us in pretty good company, especially when you consider that it's an early season game and we're very young.

I guess when I posted this, I didn't intend for this to be a knock on our team. I like this team. I think they will do well. I was just hoping to see that someone we had already beaten was playing well as well so that it really counts for something come post season selection time. So far, we don't have much to show but having only 1 loss is nice.

    Re: This years past opponents

I think these games, more than anything else, represented the opportunity to gain confidence and cohesiveness as a team. So it's a little early to worry about quality of wins. I'm just happy with 6-1, though Hawaii should have been a win.
