    nfc north

what happens if the bears win out and the vikings finish 2-1, they would both have records of 10-6, and 4-2 in the division. what does the tie breaker go to after that?

And i do realize that the nfc north is terrible and it probably won't matter what team wins the division.

    Re: nfc north

I haven't been able to figure out what the exact tie breaker is. Everyone here in Chicago says the Vikings own it though and that the Bears have to finish 1 game ahead of the Vikings to actually win the North.

I wish I had more information on what the tie breaker is though.

    Re: nfc north

If the Vikings had lost today, then they both could win out and the Bears would win because of division, but since they won, the Vikings own the conference tiebreak if they lose one. The Vikings have to choke to lose the division.

the vikings do have a fairly tough schedule so as a bears fan i can only hope the bears win and and the vikings lose 2, but i just wanted to see what would happen in case of the tie.

Didn't know about #3. I don't know how that one looks. I hope the Bears pull it out.

    TIEBREAKER #3:
Minnesota is 5-2 in those common games (with 1 left). The best Chicago can do is 4-4.

3 tough games. I bet they win the arizona one, and maybe the giants or falcons.

I wish I had more information on what the tie breaker is though.

Here are the tiebreakers for divison:

    1. Head to Head -> Push as these teams split
    2. Best Win-Loss within division -> The Vikes are 4-2, Bears 3-2; In the scenario of Bears winning out would make both 4-2 and would be a push.
    3. Win - Loss in Common Games -> Have to look at out of division common teams:
      1. Indy - Chicago won, MN lost - Advantage Chi
      2. Carolina - MN won, CHI lost - Advantage MN
      3. Jacksonville - MN won, Chi won - PUSH
      4. Tenn - Both Lost - PUSH
      5. New Orleans - MN won, Chicago won (under your scenario) - PUSH
      6. Tampa - Both lost - PUSH
      7. Atlanta - Chi lost, MN could lose (could win also. since your Bears fan, I'll put they lose) - PUSH
      8. Houston - MN wins, Chicago wins (under your scenario) - PUSH
      9. Basically if MN beats Atlanta then they win this tie breaker, otherwise it's a push as they'd both be 4-4 in these 8 games.
    4. Win - Loss within conference: Minnesota is 5-3, while Chicago is 5-5. Under your scenario Chicago would be 7-5 (58%), and MN would be 7-4 (63%). MN would win this tie breaker.
To recap there is NO way Chicago wins the tie breaker. The only way for Chicago to win the division is to win by 1 game.

EDIT: There are several more tiebreakers, but it couldn't possibly get past #4. If Chicago ends up getting the better Conference record then that means they will have won the division hence no need for tiebreakers.

    Re: nfc north

I am nervous about the last three games. I think they should win the Atlanta one at home but the other two especially the giants one will be very tough
