Adios to one of the greatest pitchers ever! Will be a different league without him, he's been pitching for most of my life.

I know he had his greatest years as a Brave, but it would be cool for him to sign a one day contract to retire as a Cub...the team that he started with.

No it wouldn't!! That would officially be the dumbest idea ever and no way he does it.

One day contracts are the dumbest thing ever.
    Signed,
Billy Crystal and the New York Yankees

For someone who isn't a real baseball player I will agree.

I'd shed a couple of joyful tears.

I remember in 1987, the year of Andre Dawson's MVP, Maddux would occasionally start, but usually come out of the bullpen. Either way, he just got hammered. We didn't know about his 1986 Iowa season, so we would just look with horror every time, and ask why we ever bothered to put him in the game. Pretty smart I was at 15. I blew that one.

Hats off to one of the game's greatest pitchers!

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!
