    Rodney Rodgers paralyzed

FOX Sports on MSN - NBA - Report: Former NBA player paralyzed after accident

Sad story....sounds like a really good guy.

"He played for seven NBA teams before retiring in 2005.
He went to work in retirement as heavy equipment operator for the city of Durham's Public Works Department.
His agent says Rogers was set for life financially, he just couldn't bear the thought of not working.
His boss says he wasn't even aware of Rogers' previous career. "I didn't even know he had lots of money. He is very friendly, very concerned, very conscientious. We chose him because of his ethics and his attitude. He was highly motivated. He was promoted to supervisor six months ago," Michael Balzarano told the News & Observer"

    Re: Rodney Rodgers paralyzed

That is very sad. From what I remember that guy was huge and powerful.

Also, if you read the comments at the bottom, some idiot claims that Dave Odom is dead so how could he comment? That was the WF coach Skip Prosser who passed away right?

In a similar vein.....there was a good story about Waymon Tisdale losing his leg to cancer.....it was the first I had heard of that....a good read...

    Re: Rodney Rodgers paralyzed

You would have thought that the Tisdale story would be common knowledge in Big 12 country, that is too bad.

    Re: Rodney Rodgers paralyzed

I'm not sure if anybody saw it, but they did a feature on Rodney tonight before the Cavs/Magic game. It's crazy to think how quickly our lives can change. He was just out riding dirt bikes with buddies and went over the handle bars and broke his neck. He flat-lined three times in the hospital and now there's a only a 5% chance he'll ever walk again. Sad story, but makes you realize that if it could happen to a big strong guy like that, it could happen to any of us at any time...
