    Hal Mumme anyone?

Recently fired NMSU coach Hal Mumme is available. He has never had a problem scoring points and is the tutor of TTU coach Mike Leach. He coached previously at Iowa Wesleyan so knows the area...that was long ago though. He knows offense and could be someone to just let have full reign of the O. He does have some shady dealings on his resume from Kentucky, though that is rather common in the SEC. I just thought it was something to think about.

I like the idea, but I would need more details on the shady stuff.

I am okay with shady as long as it translates into "w's." I don't want anything shady enough to cause long term problems but if it gets things going and costs us no post season for a season or two but in the end leads to great football that would be worth it in my mind. I mean, Miami was pretty shady in the 80's and 90's and they didn't seem to mind. Cinci basketball was pretty shady under huggins and they didn't seem to mind.

Too many skeletons in the closet. Probably not a personality match that Chizik is searching for.

There is no more or less "cheating" in the SEC than there is any other conference.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

How about Spurrier pointing out that Kiffin at Tennessee was calling on recruits before he passed the NCAA mandated test for coaches to recruit. Precious!

Shady at Miami and Cinci are different than shady at ISU. The NCAA would give us the DEATH PENALTY!!

I believe Criner got us close once, com'on, we can do it!

(j/k of course, but since I am aware that sarcasm doesn't translate well to the message board, here is my official proclamation of sarcasm.)

A lot of people would disagree with you. The first result for "SEC football cheating" on Google turned up this:

    Squeaky clean? - College Football - Rivals.com

A few highlights include the 150,000 payoff by Alabama in 2000, the fact that until this year there was at least one program (and as many as 5) on probation for the past 23 years and the fact that all of the teams in the SEC have been hit with major infractions since 1990.

Do they really cheat more than other conferences? I don't know that for a fact, but that's certainly their reputation.

have you ever got caught outside In a strong rainfall? Yes or NO. If it"s yes, then you might half felt the pane of hard(tought) rain on you head. If it hurt"s then it"s tough. Yes or no. Okay I'm right and you know it.

So alothough you attempt"ed to say you didn"t understnad, now you do. Fair enough?

the problem with criner is he cheated and it didn't pay off. At other schools they cheat, improve, live with some mild consequences and move of better for it. we seem to be cursed even in our cheating.
